Epoxy Exotherm Experiment
I've been using Epon 862 resin with Epi-Cure 9553 curing agent. I kept noticing that the leftover epoxy in my cup would melt the cup due to the exotherm when it "kicked". I was never able to catch it, seemed to happen about an hour after mixing. So I used a heat lamp to speed things up so I could capture it happening, the result was a bit more spectacular than usual. It went from watery liquid to a smoking mass of rock hard epoxy in less than a minute, now THAT'S epoxy!
