| I stood above you and I began to weep As I watched you enter your final sleep Fear and terror struck at my very heart For I had not thought of the moment we would part Gone forever from me, no more your face to see No more tender moments, no more sitting on your knee Where you had gone was now a mystery You had become a page in our family history Then one night as I fitfully turned and tossed I dreamed of you, and of all that I had lost But as your vision drifted before me I could see you smile with a haunting ecstacy Your smiling face filled my void, and took its place I also saw your illness had vanished without trace As your vision danced before me I could feel a radiant glow I was filled with a profound peace, so few of us ever know I had believed there was a world after we left this place I know that's where you've gone, since I've seen your face Please come again to visit, let me see your smiling face For now I know, that forever, you can transcend time and space |
