I remember you as a baby who was always full of laughter

I remember the times we sat on the floor and colored pictures

I remember how excited you were when you saw your first rainbow

I remember you told me it was God coloring pictures in the sky

I remember the fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and books I read to you

I remember how intently you listened to every word

I remember how tearful you became when we got to a sad place in the story

I remember your glee when everyone lived happily ever after

I remember the first time you read a story to me

I remember when we played hide and seek, and I pretended I couldn't find you

I remember how you laughed when I found you in the closet, everytime

I remember you brought me an injured bird to make well

I remember your tears when the bird died, as you had so much compassion

I remember the funeral you gave the bird, and your faith it would go to heaven

I remember your first day of school, and how you cried when I left you

I remember my own tears, as I cried all the way home after leaving you

I remember your smile turning into laughter as I tickled you

I remember when your first tooth fell out, and you thought it was forever

I remember giving you magical kisses to take away all your hurts and pains

I remember picnics, and going to the zoo to see all your favorite animals

I remember you kneeling beside your bed and praying for everyone

I remember thinking that no matter what you became, my love for you would endure

I remember praying that you would keep your faith and your innocence

Bring me your hurts to kiss away, and most of all for you to live happily ever after
