Product Guide : ukbus 1000 range
Alexander (& successor) ALX400 bodywork
The ukbus 1000 range began with ukbus 1001 - 1004 that were all dual-door ALX400-bodied Dennis Tridents for London operators and for Lothian. Subsequently, a number of single-door models followed, covering diverse areas of England, and Wales. All models feature an opening engine cover to reveal a detailed engine inside the bay and none of the models features internal construction poles.

As models became available in the shops, CMNL's ability to adapt and to modify became apparent. Features such as having a lower saloon rear window, or blank panel, were found on single and on dual door buses, as were alternative designs of nearside tree deflector or driver's nearside rearview mirror. A few models featured spotlights inset into the front bumper. For the Dublin Bus models CMNL made the specifically Dublin "BET"-style driver's windscreen. Latterly, this range has developed alternative features such as internal CCTV / plasma screens, of varying designs.
