Pete's Travel Plaxton President (Personal Commission)
This model came about as a private commission. The basic model was an acquired Reading CMNL model which was dis-assembled and stripped of paint. The shell etc was primered and then painted using real bus paint from Pete's Travel supplied by the person commissioning the model.
This paint is not recommended - as the paint might have been ok for 1 : 1 scale buses, but not suitable for 1 : 76 scale models.
The initial paint job took 3 days to dry but suffered from "orange peel" syndrome. The model was stripped again and repainted in a second attenpt to make the paint suitable for 1 : 76, and then re-assembled and new mirrors and wipers fitted.
The model was then supplied to the commissioner completely F-o-C.
Pete's had 6 of these of which the Reading Transport CMNL model was an example after their sale.
The model shown in the photos is a second one (for my own collection) that was made at the same time as the commissioned one.
