PLAYGROUPS

The MOMS Club of Costa Mesa-South has several different playgroups that meet once a week. Upon joining the MOMS Club, the playgroup coordinator will work on getting you into a playgroup as soon as possible. Sometimes this means starting new playgroups that are age appropiate for the new member or to accommodate different schedules. Some playgroups have three members and some have as many as seven. Some meet at homes; some have breakfast together; some have lunch together; some meet at parks or other Kid-friendly spots. The choice is up to you. You can be involved in the MOMS Club as much or as little as you need.

PARK DAYS

Every Friday we meet at a different park in Costa Mesa at 10 am. The kids play, we talk; some of us bring picnic lunches. We only go to parks with a restroom, for our potty training toddlers. New parks are added to the rotation upon the recommendation of a member and the vote of the club. An alternate destination is provided in case of rainy days; it will be posted on the calendar.

CRAFT DAYS

Craft Days try to be entertaining to the children. Craft Days are held one Wednesday every other month at 10 am. We have stuffed old t-shirts for pillows, decorated Haunted House-shaped cookies, made photo frames, and more. The costs of the crafts is usually between $1 - $5. The kids have a blast, and the moms usually finish the project. It is a great way to bond and learn new activites for you and your kids to do at home. They also make great gifts for dads and grandparents.

GENERAL MEETINGS

One day each month we have our General Meeting.  We have a chance to meet and talk with other members of the club that we might not see on a regular basis, and we also conduct the business of the club. All decisions made for the club, whether it is regarding a policy, an event, a fundraiser, or anything else, are made at the General  Meeting. We have an agenda of topics, discussions, and voting. Sometimes we have a guest speaker, as well. If you have a question about the club, an issue you would like to discuss, an event to suggest - this is the place to do it. We also have volunteers at the General Meetings who help make the meetings run more smoothly: set-up and clean-up volunteers, and very importantly, Kid Watch volunteers.

FIELD TRIPS

One Wednesday every other month, we go on a field trip. We have been to quite a few places with our kids and are always open to suggestions for new places to visit. Some
of our field trips have included going to the Environmental Nature Center, a train ride to San Juan Capistrano, a trip to Prehistoric Pets, a ferry ride to the Balboa Fun Zone, a trip to Chuck E. Cheese, and bumper bowling. Field trips are chosen at the General Meeting by the recommendation of a member and the vote of the club.

FAMILY DAYS, PARTIES and PICNICS

We have great family days; it is very nice to see the entire family together having a great time. We have been to Newport Dunes for a Easter party and Irvine Regional Park for a train ride and picnic.  We are always open to more suggestions  from our members.

MOMS NIGHT OUT - (MNO)

We have a MOMS Night Out once a month... and some of us look forward to it all month long! These are usually held on Fridays. This past year, we went out for Teppanyaki, had dinner and a movie at MetroPointe, got manicures and pedicures, had a game night and a pottery painting party at members' houses, enjoyed going to Sing Sing in Irvine, had a holiday dinner/gift exchange at Buca di Beppo, among other fun activities. Of course, we can't forget to mention our fabulous fundraising Annual Banquet, held every June.  Moms Night Out is lots of fun, and everyone has a great time!
