Dear Confreres,

Peace in the Lord!

According to the Fr. General's letter of confirmation, this date marks the start of my second term as Visitor. As I have done previously towards Fr. Bob, so do I now wish to thank you, my confreres, for the trust you have placed on me to continue in my service to you and the Province. I am well aware of my shortcomings in the past three years. I am certain that you have been more than understanding and forgiving of them. My daily prayer for this term will be for good health so that I may be able to serve you with full energy and commitment.

We have witnessed another “grace-filled” event in the life of our nation, EDSA II. During these past months and in the different parts of the country, many of us were active participants in the struggle to bring out the truth about our national leadership. Without God’s abiding love and provident care, we surely could not have achieved what we have and in so peaceful a manner. Truly, these past events have confirmed what has always been St. Vincent’s life-long concern: trust in God’s will at all time. May we remain true to that ideal as we contribute what little we can to the resurgence of pride in ourselves as a people.

With hope for a brighter future for our country, I am

Your brother in St. Vincent,

Fr. Manuel F. Ginete, C.M.
