Ticket from my high school's football game. We were so proud of our stadium, which seated 13,000 and was always sold out. We had good teams - state champs in 1971 and 1974. Just missed being state champs in 2002 by 2 points! |

Okay, this one will seem really odd to most people - string from an apron I wore at work in the South Campus cafeteria (aka Women's Commons) at OSU. A co-worker and I had a great game of trying to sneak up on each other and untie the other's apron. |

Still one of the coolest movies ever made, especially if the first time you saw it you were old enough to appreciate what made it so great. To this day, I haven't seen another movie that had such a powerful impact on first seeing it. |

A "Block O" card that created pictures in one section of the stadium. Each seat in that area had a set of colored cards and this instruction sheet on a 3x5 card. A leader would say, for example, "stunt 2, call 6" and each person in Block O would hold up whatever color card the instructions indicated.. |

Can you say, "ROAD TRIP!"? A dorm-mate from Mason, Ohio, insisted we hadn't tasted anything as good as Cincinnati-style chili before, so we had to find out if he was right. He was, and I still love Gold Star. |

I got to be quite a hockey fan at OSU, and even covered the team for the Lantern (our school paper) one quarter. |

I never cared for the Cincinnati Reds, but have to admit they treated us royally when they invited college sports editors from the area to a game, including dinner, great seats, a tour of the press box, and a chance to interview two players (their choice of players). Dick Wagner, the club owner at the time, came and shook our hands. |

My work-study job was for a professor who had two season tickets to the Clippers games. Unused reserve tickets were good for general admission to any game, and I was happy to take plenty of them off Don's hands. Even after I had graduated, he gave freely, and I often sat with him in the spare seat - fourth row right behind the visitor's dugout. I went to so many games, the parking attendants stopped charging me for parking! |
