Ridges Sanctuary is home to many threatened and endangered plant species as well as dragonflies, birds, and small mammals.

The picture to the left is a Wood Lily (
Lilium philadelphicum) that was blooming in the sanctuary while I visited.

Below:
Bailey Harbor's Range Lights were built in 1869 to help guide ships into the harbor safely. The Upper Range Light is the keeper's house with the light 39 feet above the water; the Lower Range Light is almost 1000 feet south at a height of 22 feet above the water.

These Range Lights were vital to the harbor of Bailey's Harbor which was the county seat and busy Great Lake port.
