2004 was the Fourth Annual Sled Dog Classic in Park Falls, WI, and there was plenty of snow this year, with a fresh 8 packy inches the day before, there was a nice 12-30 inch base. One hundred mushers arrived from all over WI, MN, MI, OH, NY and Ontario, Canada. Saturday, the amateurs raced, and the Pros raced on Sunday.
Kirk Feller of Verona, WI took first in the Six Dog Pro. First in the sSix-Dog Pro Class was Jill Biggs of Kakabek Falls, ONT. And first in the Four-Dog Pro Class was Jay Olmstead Jr of Sinclairville, NY. The Flambeau International Sled Dog Classic is the second-largest sled dog race in the lower 48, the newspaper said.
