History

CMLL began as working agreement promotion with the Pro Wrestling Alliance. With the formation of The Latino World Order. L.W.O Leader La Parka, who at the title was the PWA Mexican National champion(later renamed the CMLL. championship) conviced Victor Quionnes,PWA's International talent scout to create CMLL.

Things we going well for CMLL they were a major part of the P.W.A and had a successful working agreement with (the now defunct) NEFW.,but many P.W.A. officials didn't like CMLL working with NEFW,so they began jobbing L.W.O. members in the P.W.A. The final straw came when CMLL superstar, Juventud Guerrera was "robbed" out of his mask by PWA American champion,Adam Riggs.

Victor couldn't take any more,so he formally gave up his position within the P.W.A. The WWA(mainly P.W.A.) wouldn't allow many members of the L.W.O-Psicosis,La Parka and The Villanos to leave for CMLL, so the promotion was about to file for bankruptcy. That was before receiving a call from WCWL president,Eric Bischoff to join the World Championship Wrestling League.

After the demise of WCWL Victor retired as CMLL presodent, however recently CMLL has rejoined the WWA fold.

Quionnes released this statement.

"We of CMLL are happy to be given a second chance to be part of the WWA, plus the return of Juventud Guerrera we expect big things."
