Before I begin, please forgive all the grammatical and spelling errors before hand...as this was written in good old notepad...that does not have any spellcheck feature...But rest assured I have proofread this and there is not any inappropriate language and this text is available to people of all ages. Furthermore feel free to distribute this freely to all your friends who love CM. I, Michael Viegas permit this bit of text to be freely distributed in all nations of the planet Earth... I have read most if not all the suggestions posted on CM websites and I informed myself with what the majority of fans wish to see in the future. So I compiled a list myself. Despite the fact that I feel CM will always add more realism year after year and the fact that CM always tweaks the small errors they made in the previous versions...I nonetheless just wish to speak my mind and suggest a few things. Here is my list of suggestions for future CM's (In no particular order whatsoever...) 1) Although I am and always will be pleased with the traditional text commentary if the advent of a 3D engine does come about...I ask you to allow us to enable/disable this...so that we may have the choice to stick to our beloved text commentary instead of the 3D simulator... 2) Please add more chants for clubs...Only a few clubs have chants...and the ones that do not must settle with the cheap default chants...(Clubs with chants: Liverpool, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Metz...maybe there is a few more...but we still need alot more...) 3) As in real life...I think it would be a great idea if managers in CM were able to bid to take a player from another club on a short trial to better assess his skills etc...This is a common practice in football so I think it would simply add to the realism of CM if it was added in the game. An example of this is Joseph-Desire Job's going to Boro on trial and then they signed him. 4) Please fix the player regeneration bug...The CM engine has a bad habit of creating players who are old (26 to 28) CM should generate younger footballers...Also I noticed that none of them are really world beaters...In other words...after 8 or so seasons when the real great footballers of today are way past their prime their aren't any regenerated players good enough to step in their shoes...(I even used Dirty Andy's SLG programme to check...) I never find the next Ronaldo after 10 seasons...mostly mediocre and crap players are generated in the later stages of the game...Even the respectable Dirty Andy (Andrei Yakovenko) agrees with me. 5) Please fix non-playing staff bug...similar as above...In the later stages of CM, great staff is rare...even when top players take up non-playing staff positions...and when these top players take coaching positions or whatever up they are generally weak. 6) Please add the CONCACAF Cup Winners Cup...the Equivalent of the "Euro" or "Copa Del America" Championships of the North and Central America and Carribean FA's...This FIFA sanctioned competition is also known as the Gold Cup. No offense lads but not including this competition in CM is sad...The Gold Cup is after all and important competition... 7) Please add a savegame editor. This would be useful to get around bugs etc...aslo it would be good for those who cheat. Besides it seems that nobody else can be bothered make one. (I was asked if this suggestion was a joke, it can assure you it most certainly is not...) 8) On the Action button when you go to a players profile please add an option where I can praise the performances of one of my lads...and also if neccesary express my feelings on his poor performance...players would respond to you depending on their skills that affect how they handle managerial critisism. David O'Leary always hugs his players after a match and sometimes I am so pleased by the performance of some of my lads that I just want to thank them... 9) It would be wonderful if there was a feature that will enable us to communicate with the match squad...during a match...at half time...and right at the end of it...It would be an invaluable asset in making the CM more realistic. 10) Please add a feature where managers can arrange friendlies with your reserve squad...The reason why this needs to be added is because if you arange a frienly with your normal squad...many of the dates where you wish to add a friendly is taken up by other matches or is simply gray and you can not click it...Hence if the reserve squad had this option you would be able to see when all the reserve matches where and when all their friendlies where scheduled... 11) Please fix the bug where unattached footballers are "injured in training"...footballers who are not at a club can not be injured by the vigours of club training...so this is an error thats needs to be duly dealt with. 12) Please add a feature where managers can select dual nationality. So we could more easily manage national and domestic sides...etc... 13) Please add a feature where CM fans could select the languages you speak. ...Therefore players would be more eager to sign for you because you can communicate with them at a personal level. I speak 5 languages, and when I select Candian as my nationality CM assumes I speak English and French only... 14) With regards to suggestion 13, please add unto the engine the realistic factors involved in regards to which different languages you speak...So if you sign an Frenchmen for Arsenal and your a Frenchman...that lad will want to join the large contingent of Frenchmen at Wembley... 15) Please improve the transfers of high profile players...Players like Beckham should not sign for West Ham just cos Man Utd is having a less to par season...Players who have played on a team that has just been relagated should be a little more keen on signing on to rival clubs etc...Loyalty towards a club from the players has to be shown. (I, Michael Viegas once signed Robbie Fowler on a free transfer from Liverpool to Millwall on top flight...he scored 40 goals...then the next year he was rubbish and went to Derby) Hence untouchable players...should be untouchable...unless you offer a large amount of money...Rio's move to Leeds could be feasable as an example... 16) When your selling a player, you should be given the opportunity to tell the player why your selling him. i.e. offer you can't refuse, disruptive influence, not part of plans, wants first team football, can not afford wage demands...etc. This of course would revolve on the players feelings etc...as indicated in the appropriate screen thingy...This would be a great addition to the new 'personal' level in CM. 17) Please add more leagues. (I know your probably already planned for that in the upcoming CM...but still more leagues would be great) More leagues...alot more fans :) 18) Please add more media interaction...This was a great addition to CM 00/01 but for future CM versions...add more pundits etc...and more scenearios of what the media and press acutally do. Also some once mentioned that...the media are the ones who decide the destiny of the europes top club managers. I certainly know for a fact the media and press do have an impact (be it slight, large or an uncouncious mental impact...they still are always in our faces...and the faces of Europes top Chairmen as well...so...) Also when responding to player critisism from the media there should be more availabe responses at your disposal instead of the dreaded three of: "Defend, Critisise or No comment" It would amazing if we could Defend a player while pointing out why...ie Defend Player x because of his efforts on and off the pitch...etc.. The same amount of varitey should be added when one choses to Critisise on of his lads... 19) Please add the feature where you can manage ANY national team in CM, not just nations like England, Brazil or Italy. I personally want to lead Canada to World Cup glory but CM only allows...one to manage certain nations...As a high profile manager is CM (World Class reputation infact...as rated by Managers Stats section CM) I never in CM 00/01 been approached by the Canadian FA to take up management. 20) Please fix the bug that makes the managers of certain nations "unknown"...I mean hello? We should know all the managers of all 216 or whatever the number is nations...If you have used Dirty Andy's Dirty Editor for CM 99/00 there is an option where you have the ability to manage any nation...etc...The only error Andrei made on this was that managers where hired for like 7 different nations in one day...so it was no perfected...In anycase CM should indicate the happennings of all nations in regards to who is managing them... 21) Various FA's (Provided you have the reputation for the job) should approach you for National team managing duties...I do not care if a country like New Zealand requests my talents but I would like to lead any team in World Cup Qualifiers..etc...no matter how big or small the nation... 22) Before some matches it would be nice if players good observe a few minutes of silence for whatever reason...Before the text commentary says "Millwall kick off" CM would say something like "One minute of silence being observed". 23) Please enhance the scouting feedback...for example when you send him to lets say South America and he recommends a footballer as "an excellent prospect for the future and could make an immediate impact for the club" The scout should not only comment on his work permit situation but also is availibilty for transfer...etc... 24) Please add all real U-21 International competions...Also as in one of my previous suggestion certain FA's would offer you a managerial position for a nations U-21 squad...this would be great. 25) Please make player valuation two parted...eg a) value as in worth...(Whatever factors the CM Engine uses to calculate a players worth) then b) value how much it would cos to by him (hence the clubs valuation of the lad...) Also you could add a comments instead of an actual number for value "b" for exmaple..."Anderlecht regards Tomasz Radzinski as untouchable member of their squad and has pledged his career to Anderlecht" 26) Please add a cheat mode like other popular games in this world...I know with advent of editors you can not really add many cheats but still...please add a cheat mode. 27) Please add more background pics... 28) Please add a function where one may be able to set the squad numbers of an international side...for both friendlies and major tournys... 29) Please make a function where the media decide who gets goal of the year :) 30) Please allow international managers to use scouts to find players with dual citizenship, hence...international managers could hire scouts. 31) Please allow international managers to hire coaches...so when you have your England call up...those players train with those great coaches... 32) Please increase the 50 player limit. Just a wee bit...Cheers... 33) Regarding player regeneration, more of the CM created players should have dual citizenship...eg Anrgentinian with and Italian passport etc...a Brazilian with a Portugese passport...a Canadian with a British passport... 34) Please rectify the problem that the non-playing staff (eg foreign coaches) never learn English whilst coaching there for like 8 years...in CM 00/01 no coach, scout, physio or manager never learnt any new language. Furthermore they never gain dual citizenship like playing staff would...Even when they have 20 adaptibility they take forever to learn the language...Conclusion...Non playing staff should be able to learn new languages and gain dual citizenship just like the playing staff.... 35) Please update the "Written History" section in CM...I noticed not much if anything was changed in this section. 35) Please make the instruction booklet more in depth and with more detail. Please...please dont save a few quid by using the same text as last years instruction booklet...all you did from the CM 99/00 to CM 00/01 instruction booklets was using the same text, apart for the new features...etc... 36) Right, this may be an odd request but I never seem to be able to run CM without having problems with my internet connection...When CM is running at the same time as I am connected to the internet after a few minutes...I get disconnected on ICQ, then the links or addresses I go on my web browsers do not work...all this frustration is left with the cheekiness of leaving me online but helpless...so I have to save my game, a reconnect the internet etc...and leave CM turned off... This does not affect people who are connected to the net via DSL or Cable modems...Anyways if you have any idea of what I am on about and know how to fix this nuisance please rectify it, cheers. I do realise all these features would take a long time to be implemented but year after year CM gets closer to perfection...I know you programmers for CM work hard and yes the game is wonderful...but its so good we want more...I mean damn its good. I will always love CM and CM 00/01 is brilliant but if you add these ideas in the future I and many other fans would be even more happy. Nevertheless CM is brilliant and always will be...
