Media Handling, media handling isnt really all that difficult, if you know your football. If you dont then this is a must read. Media handling is just a case of general knowledge, all you need to do is to keep your players and backroom staff happy.

Here are some of the headlines that the media will write, the ones in bold are the ones I suggest you should choose:-

A young player has been playing good for your team and it is looking good for the future.

Build up praise
Play dow praise

A recent signing of yours is doing well, he is looking like a good signing.

Your squad have been tipped as potential cup winners (Uefa, Champ. League, FA Cup, League Cup)

We can conquer all
Were still not ready

Saying this will get your fans and your chairman happy with you, after saying this go to the board confidence section. It will say the board are happy to see that you have built a rapport with the fans It will also say that the fans have the utmost respect for you.

A media report has tipped your side as outsiders for the league, this means that a media article has said that you have an outside chance of winning the set cup.

We cam conquer all

Is (ie. Matthaus) past it? The media will say this when you have an old world class player (ie. Matthaus) and he hasnt been performing up to his standards.

Criticising an experienced player is always the best thing to do as just after you have said this you will get some news. It will be a letter from a player saying that he will try to perform better in the future, and he usually does.

(ie. Stringer) ready for international call up? This means that the media have circulated a press release about a young player (ie. Chris Stringer, Sheffield Wedneday) who is ready for an international call up, according to the media.

Hes ready, call him up
He's not read yet

Saying this will boost morale for the player and in and around the club. Pretty soon the player will be called up for his national team, big teams will be ready to spend big bucks on him, you can either sell him or keep him. I recommend that you keep him as he will become a world class player.

Your team is performing poorly, this means that your team have been performing badly in the league and you need to do something about it.

(ie. Ronaldo) on the verge of leaving the club. This means that the media have circulated a press release that the set player (ie. Ronaldo) is about to leave your club.

Confirm rumour
Deny rumour
No comment

There is no right answer to this is just a matter of common sense, if a player is actually going to leave the club then click confirm rumour. If he isnt then click deny rumour. Under know uncertain circumstances should you click no comment.

As a manager on CM 00/01 there is know way you can hide from the press, the best thing to do is just to handle them in a calm and rational way. Its just a matter of common sense.
