Board Want Title-The board of directors expect the club to make a serious championship challenge this season. This basically means that your main objective for the season is to get that title in that trophy cabinet. If you don�t achieve this objective then you better bring home some silverware or your job will become �very insecure� and on the �board confidence� section your board will say, �The board are a little disappointed with your performance as manager so far�.
Board Hope for Successful-The board of directors expect European qualification. Your board of directors will be happy with a finish inside the top 6. They expect you to get into Europe, they will be a little disappointed if you don�t qualify but will be pleased if you get in through the back door, via the inter-toto cup. In the premiership the sort of teams with these expectations are Liverpool, Aston Villa and sometimes Newcastle.
Respectable league position-The board of director expect the club to attain a respectable league position this season. The board basically expect consolidation, anything other than a relegation dog fight will do. The types of clubs that have these expectations are Newcastle United, Middlesborough and Sunderland.
The Board Are Expecting a Difficult Season-The board of directors expect the club to avoid relegation this season. This means that you have to avoid relegation at all costs. You�ll have to win your home games and hope the results go your way. The kind of clubs with these expectations are the promoted sides and the usual suspects, Southampton and Derby, etc.
