As I stand on the street corner,
waiting for the light to change,
I see the people of this world
in their daily states.
Businessmen attending to business
rushing from here to there,
by foot or by car
intent on accomplinshing their purpose.
Women and men playing
the old game of hide and seek
of mesuring and wondering
quick glances and uncertain smiles
then off to whereever they were to be.
As I watch them I look to see
if anyone around is watching me,
since this is something that I rarely see;
Except the man on the corner
who is staring at me,
wondering if I really didn't
have any change to spare today.
