Ask me about Functional Programming, Vim, Perl,
and all the cool things you can do with Linux.
Yes, Gofer, HUGS, Caml, Moscow ML, and the like,
do run on both 25 MHz 80386SL laptops and
233 MHz Pentium MMX machines, especially on Linux
partitions.

My current favorites are Perl, Gofer, Moscow ML, and GHC. |
I am deeply interested in functional programming (FP). I have a degree in linguistics (BA, Macalester College, 1989) and was pursuing an MLIS in library & information services (University of Denver). Since November 1998, my MLIS is on permanent hold. I might enroll in a master's or PhD program for computer science at some future date, but I have never been a very good student. I don't like paying to do work. I would like to make the storage and retrieval of information easier and more efficient. I would also like to attempt the automated translation of languages in a functional programming language. In the meantime, most of my programming is in Perl, though lately I have moved in Java programming and XML. |

WinHugs, and Gofer for Windows 3.1 and Win95 [Jos Enrique Gallardo Ruiz, University of Mlaga, Spain] (Sometimes the links on his page are broken...) (I still have copies: Win95 [LOCAL] and Win3.1 [LOCAL]) |

| Caml-Light works on PCs [version 0.74 is the latest]; see also SimTel.Net MSDOS Programming Utilities with version 0.5 for older machines. |
| Did I already mention that I prefer UNIX/Linux to MSDOS, and MSDOS to MS-Windows? :-) And now I'm a Linux/X Windows/Gnome/Window Maker convert!. My first Linux box is/was a PackardBell with Win95 that I converted to a dual boot now with RedHat 6.2. I have a VA Linux box, and I got my dad one, too.. |
AltaVista was my favorite search engine, in compact, plain-text mode, but now I prefer to use Google.
