The Campo dei Miracoli was spectacular! The Baptistry is in the foreground, with the Cathedral behind, and you can see the Tower off leaning in the back.
---> Justin obliged Courtney and posed for the picture like a good sport. She convinced him to hike the ~300 steps to the top too! They just started letting people back up in the tower 9 months ago, so we felt pretty lucky. It had been closed for more than 10 years.
The view from the top - it was well worth the climb. Earlier, in the Bapistry, a guard performed a one-man a cappella concert to demonstrate the acoustics. Each note he sang hung in the air, until it sounded like 5 or 6 people singing harmony at once. Wow!
They only let 30 people up at one time, and there are signs everywhere that tell you not to lean on the rails...they don't want anything to contribute to the Leaning Tower of Pisa becoming the Toppling Tower of Pisa!
Hope you enjoyed seeing some of our pictures!
