Thirty-nine strands of blue and green toned (navy, teal, seafoam, forest green, hunter green, blue-black, blue-grey, olive, etc) upholstery leather ... thuddy, very audible, and slightly cool to the touch. The talons are approximately eighteen inches in length, descending from a six-&-a-half inch leather diamond braided, wooden core handle with olive-leather pommel, decorative turk's head knots and a six inch long wrist strap.

Diamond braided portion of handle is constructed out of TWENTY-FOUR strands of 1/8th inch suede lace, intricately braided (read this as: I will NEVER, EVER, braid a handle of this many strands, again, in my life!), of many varied tones of blue and green suede lace. Turk's heads are black, as is the wrist strap.

This item is naturally balanced (without added weight) at the top junction of the lower turk's head knot and the diamond braided handle.

As an added benefit, because of ALL of the tiny strands in the handle (whew!), as you grip the handle, it grips your hand, and so in my experience provides even more traction than a corded handle does.

This was my FIRST sucessful attempt with Turk's heads, and since I'm a perfectionist, as such isn't what I'd like it to be, hence the price.
