Runaway part 2

Changed event Cinderella gets locked in her room but the duke leaves before she gets out and she runs off to prove she’s the girl at the ball

            As the duke walked through town he heard a noise coming from an alleyway. “Young lady what’s wrong? “He asked Cinderella “It’s hopeless because my stepmother locked me up I didn’t get to try on the slipper and prove who I am, “ “I am the grand duke but I don’t have the slipper with me it’s back at the palace. I suppose I could arrange for you to try it, “ “I have the other one here, “Cinderella said as she pulled out the slipper from her pocket. “If you have that one then you’re the girl the prince is searching for. Come with me to the palace quickly, “He said. They got into the duke’s carriage and arrived at the palace. The prince had already returned and was discussing the situation with Lady Termaine and Cinderella with his father. As Cinderella walked through the garden she saw something glittering on the ground. Cinderella picked it up and discovered it was the king’s crown which he through out a day ago. “His majesty will be pleased to get that back, “The duke said as he took the crown from Cinderella. They entered the empty ballroom and went into a smaller room nearby. “Wait here while I get the other slipper and then we will try both on, “The ordered as he left Cinderella  “She defied a royal command and must be punished. Cinderella must be brought before you like all the other maidens were even if it means holding another ball, “The king said “That’s crazy a ball for one person. It’s not needed, “Prince charming said as he noticed the duke with the slipper. He caught up with the duke “Where are you going with that slipper? “He asked “There’s a lady in the palace with the other slipper. I am going have her try them both on, ‘the duke explained. “Take us to her please? “ The prince asked. they all followed the duke to the room where Cinderella was waiting. When the duke appeared Cinderella removed her shoes. The duke put one slipper on her foot then the other slipper on the other foot. They fit perfectly on Cinderella.  “You’re the one I have been looking for. I recognize you from the ball, “Prince Charming said “My father is going to punish your stepmother for trying to keep you from coming to the ball, “ “No don’t she doesn’t deserve it. She was only acting in the best interest of her own daughters, “Cinderella begged “She made them trash your dress and then she locked you up so you couldn’t try on the glass slipper which is your slipper, “ Prince charming stated “Let her go she won’t be a problem anymore, “Cinderella insisted “Alright I will see what I can do. In the meantime the palace seamstress is trying to fix your pink dress if she can’t she will replace it, “ The prince said as he started to leave “Wait let me fix it. That was my mother’s dress and my friends fixed for me but my stepsisters wrecked it, “ Cinderella asked Prince Charming nodded as he headed off. “Her name is Cinderella and she wants her stepmother released, “Prince charming told his father “Why she should be mad at her and want her locked up, that woman defied a royal order “The king stated “One thing that’s been bothered me is that Cinderella was never introduced as the ball and had to leave all of the sudden, Maybe we should have another ball same as the first one and not invite her stepmother or stepsisters, “Prince Charming explained “Hold a ball for one person? Wait lets invite her stepfamily and start where the other one left off before Cinderella arrived, “ The king said, “Still there is no explanation for the silver ball gown she wore I guess the pink one will do when she finishes repairing it. Cinderella insisted on repairing it herself, “ Prince Charming said. “It’s my fault too if I hadn’t wandered off then Cinderella would have been called and she would come before me like her stepsisters, “Prince Charming groaned “I’ll go tell her and the duke will send out invitations for tonight, “the king said. Cinderella sat working on her pink dress. The seamstress had fixed the broken strap and Cinderella had to replace most of the ripped fabric with new fabric from the palace seamstress’s store. The king came in to see her. “Where is your son? “Cinderella asked, “He doesn’t want to see till tonight. We’re going to have another ball like before but you will be introduced like your stepsisters who were before you on the list. Where is that silver dress you wore the other night? “The king asked “Why go through so much trouble for me? I don’t have the silver dress anymore because my fairy godmother made it and it disappeared at midnight that’s why I had to leave the ball, “ The fairy godmother appeared “Oh this is all my fault. If I hadn’t used that midnight curfew then this disaster would never happen, “she groaned,  “I know how to fix it, “she said as she used her magic to fix the pink dress. The magic sparkled around the dress and the material was attached magically. When it was finished it looked like it had never been ripped up the fairy godmother made new material appear. It was the same as the silver dress. A pattern lay on top of the material. “There now you can make a new ball gown or wear the pink one and you won’t have to leave at midnight, “The fairy godmother said as she disappeared. “I will make a new silver one and put the pink one on tonight, “ Cinderella said excitedly “I will tell my son about this.  He might want you to wear the silver one, “The king said and then he left to tell the prince. Cinderella worked like crazy to make it and carefully to not mess it up. When she finished later it looked like the one she wore before. Cinderella changed into the pink dress and headed for the ballroom. Everyone in the kingdom was back again for the ball. Cinderella appeared and waited. Her stepsisters were called again and like before the prince seemed uninterested in there. Then Cinderella was called and she went before the prince. “May I have this dance? “Prince Charming asked her.  Cinderella wore the pink dress the fairy godmother had repaired. “I have the silver gown in another room if you want me to put it on, “Cinderella said. Prince Charming didn’t care. They danced the night away and were married soon afterward They lived happily ever after.
