Faded into the sky

Aurora and Phillip must leave in a strange way.

            Aurora had not been well lately. She had caught the dreaded plaque but was still able to walk around. The three fairies had been summoned to help her.  They came quickly and found Aurora looking ill with red circles around her eyes. Both of her daughters Aurora the second and Julia stood by watching. “There isn’t much we can do but prevent it from spreading to others, “Flora said “Also Queen Aurora and King Phillip must be ready to leave in two days, Don’t bother packing or anything else we will explain in two days, here” Flora continued. The redness left Aurora as the waved their wands. “I don’t understand leave for where? “Aurora asked. Julia asked the fairies “Who will rule the kingdom without them? “ “Aurora the second will, “Phillip answered, “She and Prince David were just married, “ Aurora the second was so named because she looked exactly like her mother and Julia was the same but she had Phillip’s brown hair.

            The next day Aurora and Phillip announced they were stepping down from the throne and then they headed out to the glade. “Remember when we first met here?” Aurora asked Phillip “How came I forget? “ Phillip answered they reached the spot overlooking the palace and village. “Remember when you left me here?”  “Yes because the fairies didn’t want me talking to strangers, “She answered. They kissed as the sat on the ledge afterward they returned to the palace and headed up to Aurora’s room in the tower. “I could never forget kissing you here to wake you up. “Phillip explained “Yes and that’s why I insisted on spending our wedding night here which we did. “How romantic that was in the same place where the spell was broken, “Phillip replied.  They looked at the bed that Aurora slept regularly now and usually in her blue gown and crown. “People think I am crazy sleeping in my dress but I got used to it after the spell,” Aurora answered. They looked at the spinning wheel still sitting in the room. “You use that thing or just kept it for sentimental reasons?” Phillip asked Aurora “I used it a little bit after the fairies changed the spindle. They didn’t trust the original one, “Aurora answered. She opened a box and showed Phillip the old spindle inside. “So that’s the one you pricked your finger on. I don’t blame the fairies for wanting to replace it. I am glad you kept it because it holds so much meaning for you, “Phillip replied. “Yes that’s why I fought to keep it rather then let the fairies dispose of it. They checked it out and found it was harmless by itself. It didn’t matter what spindle I pricked my finger because I would still have fallen asleep. I found out something else from the fairies the spell that maleficent originally cast was for me to die when I pricked my finger but Merryweather changed it. I think Maleficent knew that would happen because she didn’t try to change it back. “Aurora Continued “Makes me think she planned it that way. If she wanted to kill you she would have found a way, “Phillip said,  “Lets spend our last night here in this room. We will just sleep in what we have on now, “ Aurora suggested. “All right then we will have to tell everyone that’s our plan, “Phillip replied. Later that night Phillip and Aurora returned to the tower room. Aurora picked up something from the dresser. “This is the same rose the fairies put in my hands after I fell asleep. It’s strange that it still blooming after all this time. Maybe it’s a magical rose. “Aurora explained. Aurora slept in her gown and crown holding the rose with Phillip in his cape and black outfit slept beside her with his head on her shoulder.  The next the day the fairies and Aurora’s daughters joined them in the room.  “All you have to do is go out the window. You will float through the sky to wherever you’re supposed to go. We don’t know what will happened just that it will be something special, something wonderful. “They said. Aurora and Phillip kissed and hugged everyone. “Phillip lets waltz one last time. “Aurora asked “Alright out the window into the sky. “Phillip answered. Aurora grabbed the rose and they started dancing around the room soon they floated gently out the window and up into the sky. Everyone watched as they go over the castle wall and a ball light appeared ahead of them. Aurora and Phillip kissed as they entered the light still waltzing. “Will we ever see them again? “Merryweather asked as she cried. “Who knows what will happen to them as least they got to go together. ‘Flora answered.  Aurora the second looked at the fairies “Why did they have to leave like this? “ “We wish we knew the answer but we don’t “Flora answered, “This room will be their memorial. No one will ever sleep in here until they return if they return. “Aurora the second said. They all left still crying and wondering where Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip went they had been called by those titles after stepping down both Aurora and Phillip insisted on it. The kingdom mourned for two days afterward. Would Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip return no one knew but one thing they did know as the royal couple danced away into the sky the forbidden mountain lost all traces of evil.
