Aurora in the 21st Century

Aurora and Phillip accidentally travel forward in time when a spell designed to protect 
them from the plaque backfires.

Aurora stood in the throne room waiting as Phillip entered in pain. There were red circles 
around his eyes he had the plaque. The three good fairies rushed to him. Flora, Fauna, 
and Merryweather used their magic to cure him.  The redness disappeared and he got 
better rapidly. "We can't keep doing this. There has to be a better way, " Flora stated. 
Stefan looked on "Please you must protect my daughter and Phillip from this horrible 
scourge or our future will be lost.  Phillip's father is dead from the plaque and we could 
be next, " The Fairies huddled together. They came up with plan "It's the only way, " 
Fauna said sadly they turned towards the king. "The only way is to put Aurora to sleep 
again. . ," But Flora was cut off "No not again what about Phillip?" Aurora screamed,  
"It's alright Aurora this time Phillip will be with you. We will put both of you to sleep, " 
Flora explained Aurora claimed down "Good you had me worried for a while, " "We will 
wake you up when we find a way to make you immune to the plaque," Flora finished. 
Later Aurora wearing her blue dress and crown with Phillip dressed in his black 
outfit waited in the tower where Aurora once slept before. The fairies arrived.  Aurora 
and Phillip laid down holding hands and Aurora also had a rose as before. The fairies 
covered them with a blanket and as Aurora and Phillip kissed the Fauna waved her wand 
as she chanted Merrywearther started talking" at least the won't sleep for hundreds of 
years " that causes the spell to change from 6 months to 600 years "I can't change it back 
now they will wake up centuries from now" The fairies cried as the left with that Aurora 
and Phillip were in a deep ageless sleep. As they slept they dreamed of dancing with each 
other in the Glen.  As the fairies left them they cast a protection spell on the tower. No 
one would be able to enter or see into it and the plaque could not reach it. They headed 
off and began working on a cure.  Stefan could only wonder how long it would take. He 
was never told about the faulty spell. 
Time passed but the palace, the glen, and the woodcutter's cottage where the 
fairies lived remained unchanged.  Unfortunately the fairies spent so much time working 
on a cure and sometimes fighting that they lost track of time. Finally they had a cure. "Oh 
no Aurora and Phillip. We forget about them." Merryweather cried. "Its been ages since 
we put them to sleep, " The fairies rushed to the palace and found it empty except for 
Aurora and Phillip sleeping in the tower. They remained unchanged and hadn't aged a 
minute since the fairies put them to sleep. 600 years passed and they woke up and the 
fairies gave them the cure. Aurora walked down the steps to a balcony. "It's good to be 
awake again, " Phillip joined her "and were still together. That's all that matters, " he 
answered, "Yes it is,"Aurora said as they held hands. Just them a noise got their attention. 
An object streaked overhead making a loud roar.  Aurora looked in surprise "What is that 
thing? " Phillip jumped back in fright the fairies were confused as well "We don't know, 
but you have slept so long anything is possible, "They answered. Above in the space 
plane above the pilots looked in confusion as there instruments acted up. "It's like there's 
some interference or something. " the captain said "Better report it, " the copilot replied.  
"Alert Alert clear all launchways " a voice boomed on the loudspeaker. Two patrol ships 
launched Captain Brad led the way "Lets get down on the deck and head for Stefan 
Castle, " he ordered. They headed towards the castle. "That castle is a ghost town. Why 
are we going there? "Frank asked  "Some shuttle on descent to Paris reported instrument 
problems. Command picked up an energy anomaly there, "Brad replied they turned over 
the glen and headed straight for the castle. Off about a half mile away was the navigation 
beacon tower.  "It looks different today. It's brighter and looks like someone cleaned it, " 
Brad stated.  "There are people down there. A woman in a blue dress and a man beside 
her," Aurora saw the patrol craft approaching "What are they? Their in a hurry, " "They 
appear to be flying machines, "Fauna answered The ships flew past and circled back 
towards the castle. "Al right lets go down and see what's going on," Brad ordered Aurora 
raced down towards the courtyard with Phillip behind her. Brad and Frank landed in the 
courtyard and climbed out "This place is dead. There's nothing here, "Frank commented, 
"I am not getting any energy readings. Whatever it was is gone" Brad reported Aurora 
and Phillip walked out towards the men checking the area.  "Who are you "Brad asked 
them.  "I am Princess Aurora and he is Prince Phillip" Aurora answered "Aurora died 
centuries ago of the plague, " "She's Aurora, " the fairies replied "Frank get the portable 
DNA equipment. We will get to the bottom of this, "Brad ordered Brad took blood and 
hair samples from Aurora and Phillip. "Ouch I have pricked my finger enough for one 
lifetime, " Aurora responded "We can take hair, Blood, and Skin and match them to 
samples from dead people, "Brad explained, "What did you mean about getting your 
finger pricked?" "I pricked on a spindle and fell asleep until Phillip woke me, "  "Well 
the DNA matches King Stefan's she's Aurora. Wait you fell asleep after pricking your 
finger then that makes you Sleeping Beauty. Impossible pinch me, "Brad replied Aurora 
pinched him "Ouch! Its true' he replied, "Wait until why come back with this story. 
Command will go crazy, " Frank answered "Come on your Highness time to go to 
command, "Brad replied. They climbed into Brads ship and lifted off heading for the 
command center. Aurora, Phillip, and the fairies watched the changed landscape below. 
"That's the glen where I first meet Phillip and the cottage where I lived with the fairies, 
"Aurora explained excitedly "Yes it's a landmark. We use it as a turning point for going 
on to Stefan castle, "Brad explained The people back at the command center were 
surprised and glad to see Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip. One of them lived in the 
area near the castle. "The legends always said you would return to rule your father's 
kingdom Aurora. People living there have waited for generations, "he said. "All data 
points to one thing you went to sleep in the 14th century and woke up 610 years later. You 
are now in the 21st century, "brad excitedly pointed out. Phillip nearly fainted and the 
general turned to Aurora "Your kingdom is yours to rule. We will provide protection for 
you if you want it and we will help you catch up on history, " "Thanks all I ask is that the 
patrols continue and you modernize the castle for me, "Aurora answered. "And leave my 
glen and the cottage alone and keep the patrols away for there so I can visit it as it was in 
the 14th century, " Princess Aurora and Phillip kissed as the got ready to return home.  
Aurora became queen but most people still called her Princess Aurora. She visited the 
glen wearing her blue gown and with Prince Phillip at her side. Aurora became interested 
in making a flying machine for Phillip and her. The castle got electricity. Aurora and 
Phillip lived happily in the 21st century.
