Admiral Kirk has defeated Khan with the price of Spock's life. Spock had risked his life and died Saving the Enterprise from being destroyed from the genesis overloading. Kirk is paid a visit from Spock's father Sarek and finds out that McCoy is harboring Spock's living essence. One friend is dead and one is going insane and they are both in pain. Kirk and the rest of his senior staff steal the Enterprise and sets cource for the Genesis planet which is a forbidin planet except for the science team on board the U.S.S. Grissom. The Klingons have also learned about the Genesis and race to meet Kirk to get the genesis information to create a very deadly weapon.
