| Sweepers, belonging to the category of footplants, do not require much expertise of the skater. The only difficulty is the jump onto the board. One must overcome the tendency to hesitate. The skater also has to have enough speed or momentum for the board to reach the table. Before the front wheels hit against the coping, execute a kick and initiate a slight frontside turn by turning the upper body in the proper direction. When the back wheels reach the coping, grab the board's nose with your front hand and stip from the board, positioning your back foot on the coping. The board is turned by the front foot, still on the board, turning away from the boady and in the direction of the flat. The tail is then set onto the coping, and the upper body follows the trun that was begun by the front foot. When the tail touches the coping, the back foot jumps back onto the board. Now the skater lets go of the nose and does a drop in. |
