| Not happy!!!! |
| This story is from Michelle at CM Sporthorses and myself.... The guys from Notables rang Michelle that morning (30th May 2007) and said they were about an hour and a half away. Dead on time, she heard the truck pull up out front, (she don't even have to give them directions to their place any more, they just know where to come! Don't know if that's good thing or a bad thing! lol She have done her ankle in (was plugging in an extension lead for Craig the other day and didn't have the light on in the spare room and rolled her ankle down the side of something that should'nt have been on the floor (darn cats!!!)...) so couldn't lead Cullen up the driveway. Michelle caught him and then Ruben ( one of the drivers) put one of their headcollars on him and led him out and up the drive. His buddy Kenny wasn't overly impressed about him being taken away, but then discovered that Michelle had emptied the yellow bucket contents into the feeder and didn't want Wirrindi (the pony Michelle threw in there for company for Kenny) to get it all so went and ate (gee, that was a hard separation from his best buddy wasn't it?? lol) Bill (their 3/4 Cleveland Bay stallion) came up to see who it was being led past his paddock and Cullen had a little call out to him but kept walking. Cullen looked at the truck, Ruben just walked up the ramp and Cullen stood there and looked at it for a second, Matt (other driver) put his hand on his rump and patted it and said "Up you go" and he walked up and stood like a pro! When the truck pulled up and they opened up the side for him, Matt poured him in some water in his drink bowl and some chaff in his feed bowl. Cullen put his nose in the chaff and then went "NUP, I'm sulking now" and didn't touch it but then he had just recently finished his lucerne hay. Michelle were going to give the boys a call later tonight to see how Cullen's travelling. They (Notables) expected to get to Sydney on Friday with Cullen, and then he will head up to Agistment property where I keep my horses! MIchelle said it was a bit sad to see the little dude head off, but can't wait to see how he grows up with me! Oh believe me, for few days I was feeling terrible - sick in the tummy, I can't explain! However I was eagerly expecting to have Cullen home with me. I was just thankful that Cullen was boarded on the truck in a broad daylight than it was supposed to, as Notables said around midnight Wednesday to dawn Thursday! The Notables have re-assured me that the drivers, Matt and Ruben are very experienced horsemen and will do their very best to give my little guy a good first experience. Cullen did had the day off from travelling in Melbourne (31st May) while they (Notables) got all the other Melbourne pick up horses organised! Cullen is eating, drinking fine and travelling well! Then Cullen had arrived safety in Sydney (1st June), he travelled well, altough he was a little relucant to eat at first, and will rest that day. The Sydney Horse Transport overtook to take Cullen onto Queensland and arrived on Sunday morning (3rd June) at 6.00am! Unfortunately I couldn't be there to greet him when they unloaded him off the truck. Cullen was a bit timid and had lost a little bit of weight on his trip also looked a bit tucked up but I guess that's to be expected. Cullen left at CM Sporthorses on Wednesday lunch time and arrived at Agistment property on Sunday morning, so it's been a big effort for Cullen!!! By the way I realised that Cullen may have been a bit timid because he's only ever known Michelle and Craig and then all of a sudden he's been handled by lots of different people, put in lots of new places and whatnot over the last few days. What Cullen all did was sleep and eat for few days to catch up on from all that travelling! |
