Subject: Fundamental Tax Reform
Dear President Bush:
The Income Tax System (and IRS) is overwhelmingly disliked by the vast majority of hard-working American taxpayers because of its unfairness and burdensome compliance and filing requirements.
After years and years of our Government's repeated attempts to improve it (only to make it worse every time), I would hope the "powers that be" in Washington can see that more "patchwork" is not the answer.
Surely, sir, you and all the other leaders in D.C. can see that it's time for a fresh new approach to funding the government... one that is fair to all, easy to install, simple to operate, and is "revenue neutral", i.e. will fund the government at the same level as the present Income Tax System.
The better method to which I'm referring is the FairTax Act, HR 25 / S.1493. Not only is it better, simpler and fairer than the unrepairable Income Tax System, but it receives a ringing endorsement from those in Congress who have studied it and signed-on as Cosponsors (with the number steadily growing) and it is enthusiastically supported by more and more of the hard-working taxpayers of America as they become aware of it as a r-e-p-l-a-c-e-m-e-n-t for the Income Tax System (and IRS).

| Mr. President, if you really want to get the American taxpayers/voters behind you in the upcoming November 2nd election, announce N-O-W that -- early in your 2nd term -- you intend to pursue Fundamental Tax Reform with The FairTax Act, HR 25 / S.1493, as the plan you believe offers the BEST way to "fix" the broken-down, messed-up Income Tax System that we now have. |
You can be sure that, once you make that announcement, every taxpayer/voter in America will seek-out the details of the proposed FairTax bill and they will be more than pleased with what they learn. The FairTax can be a real "vote-getter" for you.
The Bill has bi-partisan sponsorship in both the House (H.R. 25) and Senate (S.1493).
I look forward to the tax-reform debate and ultimate enactment of the FairTax as the new method for funding our national government.
While I'm sure you will be remembered for all the good-things you did as President, enactment of the FairTax Act during your 2nd term will be the accomplishment that, IMHO, will place you along-side our greatest Presidents in our nation's history books.
As a WW-II Vet I like to think that we still today do not shrink from "fighting for what is right." Surely, fixing our miserable Income Tax System is the "right thing" to do.
