| Section 1 General Rules 1.1 Starting positions are PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C (no UTIL spots) 1.2 Scoring Categories are FG%, FT%, 3-pointers, Pts, Rebs, Assists, Steals, and Blocks. 1.3 There's a 9th scoring category that rotates based on which team wins the NBA championship the previous season: Atlantic: Minutes Played Central: Technical Fouls Southeast: Off Rebs Northwest: FGs made Pacific: Assis/TO Ratio Southwest: Def Rebs 2006: Miami (Southeast) 2007: SA (Southwest) 2008: Boston (Atlantic) 1.4 Roto format. 1.5 Roster size is 14 with no IR spots. 1.6 This is a free league, compadre. We play for pride. Section 2 Keepers 2.1 Teams keep any 12 players from the final roster. 2.2 Keeper lists are due Oct. 1. They can be sent earlier (to [email protected], or posted on the League message board) and can be altered up until Oct. 1. Section 3 The Draft 3.1 There are 2 rounds to the draft, which will start on Oct.6. 3.2 The order for the 2nd round is the reverse order of the final standings. 3.3 The order for the 1st round is reverse order of the final standings, except for the first 3 spots which will be lotto style and based on the NBA draft position lotto. The last place team from our league will be represented at the NBA lotto by the last place team in the NBA and so on up to all NBA lottery teams. 3.4 In the case of a tie in the standings, the team that has more games played (fewer unused games) is ranked lower for the lotto and draft. The second tiebraker would be the result of the 9th (rotating) category from the standings, the leader in that category getting the lower ranking. 3.5 Any open spots left after offseason trading of players or picks will NOT be filled with any extra picks. 3.6 Teams with less than 12 legimate keepers, due to player retirements or simply bad rosters will NOT get any extra draft picks to fill roster spots. 3.7 The draft will be an offline, message board draft. I will do my best at keeping an updated available player/drafted players list. 3.8 The time limit for picks, loosely enforced, is 24 hours. If the team drafting ahead of you goes over the limit, go ahead and make your pick. Worst case scenerio, if a team goes over its time limit and other teams start picking, the late-drafting team can pick at any time, but the newly drafted players are off limits. Section 4 Trades/Roster Moves 4.1 No limit on trades or free agent pick-ups. 4.2 The trade deadline will be the Yahoo suggested date. Offseason trading can start after the last games. 4.3 Draft picks can be traded, but only draft picks for the upcoming draft. 4.4 There's a 2-day waiver period for dropped players/undrafted free agents and a 2-day pending period on trades. 4.5 League Votes on trades, not just the all-knowing commish. 4.6 This league, being a deep keeper league, has no rules saying that teams out of contention can not trade with teams still in contention. 4.7 The beginning waiver priority will be the reverse order of the previous season final standings. |
