Usher Group Information
Mission Statement: To serve the parishioners
of The Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church by maintaining order, providing convenience
and assisting in the needs of all people attending masses.
Usher Group was formed in 1987, together at the same time with the parish. Usher
group provide its service for all Chinese masses (Sat 6pm, Sun 8:15am, 9:30am,
11:00am, 12:40pm, 8:00pm), as well as directing traffic before and after these
masses. (Note: The Usher Group does not relate to the English mass in physical
sense). Currently there are about 90 members. The Usher Committee is responsible
for all decision making related to the group. It is made up of 17 members over
15 positions. For details, you can go to the contacts page to view the list
of positions as well as job description of each.
IMPORTANT: The issue that most parishioners now concern is regarding certification
of community hours. I would like to take this opportunity here to make it clear:
On the committee meeting on August 16, 2002, the committee and Fr. Leung have
decided that the Usher Group is a CHARITY GROUP and therefore will not issue
any community hours. Members who have joined after that day will not be issued
certification of community hours. However, other certification will still be
issued. (ie: for job purpose)
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments towards the group, please email
us or call one of our committee members. Contact information
can be found at the contacts page.
