The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Volunteer Band is an
ALL VOLUNTEER musical organization in the Tampa Bay Area. We work together with the Crime Prevention Unit of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to help promote community awareness and share the joy of music.
The Sheriff's Band
, as it is affectionately known, is composed of musicians from all walks of life, from professionals to students. These volunteers perform concerts all over the Tampa Bay Area every year under the direction of Maestro Neil Seney.
We currently have a variety of over 300 stocks in our folders, including big band, swing, pop, broadway and classical. Some of our favorites include In the Mood, String of Pearls, New York New York, Hey Jude, Children of Sanchez, Birdland, and Rock Around The Clock.
Rehearsals are held each Tuesday night, 7:15pm-9pm, in the chorus room of Jefferson Senior High School, located on the corner of Cypress and Trask. UPDATE 11/09/04: we have moved rehearsals to the band room at the church on the corner of Henderson & Dale Mabry. Contact us for more information and directions. If you are 18 years of age or older and play an instrument, pull it out of the closet, dust it off and come join us for an evening of music and entertainment.
