What I do?

I am a Piano player from Darlington, and am currently studying a BA Music (Hons) at Newcastle University, having progressed from a BTEC National degree in Music Practice with Distinction at New College Durham.
As a piano player mainly my aim is to perform as much as possible whether it is alone or in a band, I am very open minded in terms of the styles I play as it is all good experience. I recently had a lot of performing experience at the Opera Bar in the Gate, Newcastle. I am currently in two bands, Big G which is Country / Blues based and Mesmeric which is aiming to be a function band playing covers of hits from 50’s—00’s.

What I play?

Most instrumentalists usually have a specialist area. I fall into that category, I mainly specialise in Rock / Pop. My musical tastes include: Elton John, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, Lionel Richie, Chicago, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Carpenters, Leona Lewis, Avril Lavigne, Jamiroquai, Abba, The Bee Gees etc…

I can learn songs pretty easily and quickly, I could turn on the radio and be able to play along, and I can also sight read sheet music well, I usually carry a fake book around with me when playing the Opera Bar etc.
