A person usually will study Reiki for several years, and at each level receives an attunement which opens their energy fields to allow healing energy to flow through them.
Symbols are used to summon a specific kind of healing force to certain kinds of disorder.
The chakras are points in and on the aura and body through which certain types of energy flow. They all have a particular significance. The major chakras are situated on the top of the head (crown chakra), forehead just above the nose (third eye), throat, mid-chest, heart, solar plexus, spleen, lower abdomen (about 4 inches below navel), root (perineum), hips, as well as the shoulders, hands, elbows, knees, ankles and feet.
The aura is the energy field that extends beyond our bodies. It is commonly referred to as having three levels. The primary level is considered ethereal - the most dense and almost smoke-like in appearance and texture. This extends from the body according to a person's health and awareness level. In a very sick or elderly person it may extend merely half an inch where in very healthy and younger people it may extend 6 inches to almost a foot in some. The chakras are very perceptible in this layer. The secondary level is less dense and may extend out three to six feet from a person. The tertiary (third) level is much less dense and most pure of all fields and extends beyond the secondary level. Here, pure thought and emotion are perceptible as to the cause of illness, disease. This is where the demons we create for ourselves begin and penetrate and they are the most obvious as the core cause.
Truly, our bodies are not vessels for our souls, our souls are vessels for our bodies!
