How we get started.....

For this robot, me and my members, haha all from air force sign on 1, i gather them together for our final year project. Y I choose them? At first was thinking of doing a project that link with air force, but in the end, we end up fabricating a walking robot.>>>>which is our son, dicky the robot, he has 4 father, but no mother, lolx.

At first, starting to do this robot was very tuff as we dun have experience in it, we spend the whole June holidays coming back to study the characteristic, the model of the past years robots. Then finally, we decide to spread our job evenly,

 - lien hong is good in maths, he got the task on how to design the legs and the cam, using some mathematics terms to design the legs, he also in charge doing lathe work.

- yixian is more good in programming, he was given the task to learn and write the program for our robot.

- Ivan, he is more better in those electrical stuff, he design our motor driver board, sensor board and the target was fabricated outside, he also fabricated some circuit boards.

- me, I prefer mechanical stuff than electronic, I design the main frame of the robot, the shields and use CNC turret punch machine to fabricate it.

Doing a big project like this is not easy, as the group leader of the team, I will have group meeting with my supervisors and team mates. Before getting started, we have a nice talk, I told my team mates, do this project sure very stress 1, we will end up quarrel in the middle of the work, sure some conflict will start getting on. They are also my friends, my future work mates, i dun wana lose friendship cos of a stupid project. I set a motto for our team, work is work, friendship is friendship, if during work time, we have quarrel or argument, we buay song anything, we have to bring up in the meeting, and not let this unhappiness bring into friendship. Ya indeed we did have some arguments and buay song moments, i admit sometimes i wrong, as the group leader, me abit xiao qi, if my member do something wrong that make mi dulanzz, i will face black black whole day But all the angry moments is within the work, this does not affect our friendship.

we have happy moments, i admire my team spirit, i am proud of them, sometimes we work till very late, there was sometimes, we went home around 9 to 10 pm . A few times work till 1130pm before the dogs is set out in sch. When we see our robot run on the track, you can see my members faces, the delighted and happy face they have, we work very hard to achieve this good result. When our son( the robot) is running on the track, he is very stable, very zai, just like a F1 formula racing car, his cornering was superb. There were some sad moments, when our son ki siao, he fall sick, circuit got problems, circuit board burnt, then he cannot run on track. i can see the ren zhen face my team mates have, when he cannot run, machaim like a person die like that, we will be very sad.The most sad is Ivan, cos he really spend a lot of time yan jiu those circuits with resistors, diode , capacitors etc, really must thanks him. When our robot is ok liao, he bring our life back, those happy smile is onzz again on our faces.

For this project, we have to thank a few persons,

Mr. Kwek, he is a good supervisor, he is not cat 1, ask for $$$ buy components, how much he also pay us and claim form school, he give us some pointers when we are off track in our design.

Mr. Lee, our co supervisor, he is our shi shiong, haha, cos last time he also sign on air force. He help us in programming and some electronics stuff, he guide us to the correct path. He is very patient in teaching us even thought we abit ben dan at first.

Clarence, Shu qiang,  Anthony , these 3 person have experience making robots like gladiators , sumos , legged robots and etc. They give us some help when me and my team mates are in doubt, they guide us when we in wrong.

Mr. howey,  robotics lab lecturer, he also teaches us something about robotics when we are in doubt and have problems.

Winn and Tun Naing ,  technicians in robotics lab, they help us when we need help in robotics lab.

Mr. Teo, workshop technician, he very good 1, teach lien hong some skill in lathe and milling, we also draw materials from him.

Mr. Harun, CNC Turret punch technician, he is very friendly guy, haha, he call me ah yeo, cos of mine surname, he teaches mi alot on turret punch.

I learnt what is call team work in this project, i also learnt how to cherish friendship, after the robot, sometimes we go gym , swimming and running together, sometimes play soccer. Without anyone in the group, this project would not have been this success, everyone play a part in it. Without the other 3 members, I sure cannot do. Not forgetting this two supervisors, they play a part too in guiding us to the right track when sometimes we are lose in the middle of the project. Thank You sirs!!

For now , we are going to bring our son (dicky) to SINGAPORE ROBOTICS GAMES 2002 IN Singapore EXPO at may 20 -22. we are going to work hard from now till that day, hope can win lor, no win also never mind 1, i just wana see the team work we have once again. If i not wrong, that day, we were be very busy, getting ready tunning for the robot, lap top, tool box and everything will be ready. AFTER THIS, 4 OF US GETTING READY GO TEKONG LIAO.

DICKY BRING THIS FRIENDSHIP CLOSER, FRIEND IS FRIEND, WORK IS WORK, FRIENDSHIP FOREVER!

I salute my team mates, they win my respect for them, for their hard work they produce, true hero!!! keke.
