his laptop! He decided I didn't share well enough for that to be our only 'puter for awhile! Anyway, you guys, it's just a beautiful sight sitting here all new and shiny! Thank you, Lord! Now for the WEIRD thing that happened yesterday... After church we stopped at a Subway to get a bite. Now, after 3 years of living here, we've NEVER eaten in this Subway 'cause we have another sub place we like better. But, Tim and I are both doing Weight Watchers and we have a book with all the info about Subway, and know that we can eat there without burning too many "points". So, we're almost done eating and I glance out the window and this guy comes walking up. I tell Tim that he looks just like a guy that I used to date in FL. I mean, I haven't seen this guy in 12 years. He was the last guy I dated before dh, and we were semi- serious. There wasn't really a break-up, we just kinda "grew apart". The last time I saw him was as Tim and I walked up the aisle right after our wedding...there he was sitting with the rest of the guests. And it's a WHOLE other story, but I was beyond shocked to see him there (it's not like he went to our church or anything). SOOOOOooooo...I tell Tim that if I took my memories of this guy and age him 12 yrs, this guy really looks like him (Tim never met him, btw). So he tells me it can't POSSIBLY be him 'cause we dated each other in FL. So this guy orders his food to go and is going out the door about the same time as us. And I look at him, he smiles, and I said, "Jeff?". He say's that yes, it's him. So we stand there and talk for about 15 min. His sister lives about 45 min from us, and he, his wife (he's only been married a year, and it's his 1st marriage), his mom, and his 2 step kids were just getting lunch on their way back to FL. How BIZZARE is that? I mean, if I ran into him in Orlando, that would not be weird, but HERE in SC? In a restaurant we've never gone into before? And another thing that kinda freaks me out -and Tim agrees with me- is that as shocked as I was, he didn't seemed shocked at all to see me. And when I asked what he was doing up here, he never asked me why I was here. It was like he knew that I lived here. Now, let me just explain that we have NO mutual friends, and even when we dated in FL, we still lived 45 min from each other. I don't know, I'm just amazed...I hardly slept last night. It's just so strange. If
you endured all the way to the end of this weird story, thank you and
congratulations! I'll put a gold star on your chart! ~Chandra
She did it! Those angels are having themselves another party tonight! My daughter, Makenzie, is now also my sister in Christ! Praise God!My goodness...what a discussion that was! Makenzie(6) wants to know everything about everything...she's always been like that. Well, I tell you what, she asked every question you can think of - I was so scared that she was just confusing herself, but I didn't want her to think her questions were unimportant. We talked about everything from the Trinity to having a glorified body in Heaven! She was crying and she kept saying, "but I don't understand", so I told her that we would just discuss it some more tomorrow after she had awhile to think about it all. Then I asked her to tell me what she did understand about how you get to Heaven. Well, she just told me flat out the whole plan of salvation! I'm like, "So I don't know what you DON'T understand?". She said she wanted to ask Jesus into her heart, but she didn't know what words to say when she prayed and she was scared she would get it all wrong! I, of course, told her I would be there and help her with the words when she thought that she was ready to pray. She says this big "OH! Then I want to do it NOW!". Bless her heart, for some reason she thought I was just going to leave her in there to fumble through it on her own! So we prayed and she was just so excited! She told me to go get her Daddy so she could tell him and then she was giving us the list of everyone she's calling tomorrow! I just have to say...what an incredible time of the year to get saved! PTL...my baby is going to Heaven! There is NO better feeling! Huge thanks to everyone who was praying! Love~ Chandra...whose crying happy tears and doing the happy dance! The next day~ I'm just so thankful, again, for Makenzie accepting Christ. You should have seen her going around church last night and telling everyone. She was beaming (me, too!). Yesterday she wanted to know why I was so happy and why I keep crying everytime we talk about it. I told her first of all, because she's going to be going to Heaven, of course; and secondly that I had accomplished my #1 parenting job...pointing her to Christ.
Encouragement for grandmothers~ There was a time when I was little...after my parents divorced...when, for a couple of years, my Mom was far from the Lord. She dated some guys who were, ummm, questionable. There was never any abuse, but it was certainly not a good environment/example for me. BUT...I had these wonderful, Godly grandparents who I spent as much time with as possible (who, btw, lived 2 hrs away!). My grandma was the one who led me to the Lord. She always read me Bible stories and made sure I knew right from wrong. They prayed and prayed for my Mom and I. My Mom started dating the man who would eventually become my stepdad, and my Grandpa led him to the Lord. My grandparents were a crucial part of who my Mom is today, and who I am.
