Year in Review: 2002
Wow - God has done so much this year. He led me through my first year of law school. Provided me
with a wonderful, interesting summer internship. Scheduled me for the classes I needed and
wanted this semester. Has seen me through countles stresses and deadlines at school.
God gave me the courage to join Christion Cafe. Without that courage I never would have followed
His lead to Matt. God gave me the courage to write Matt and ask him out to coffee (okay and from
there we all know where the relationship has blossomed). He's given me the wisdom to deal w/
certain circumstances in my relationship w/ Matt that I may otherwise not have dealt with in an
appropriate manner. He's given Matt the words to let me know when I'm overstepping the line.
He's given both Matt and Catlin the openness to accept each other and become friends.
He's been with Charlton, my brother, in his struggles with work, job searching, and Paige. He's
led Charlton back to the East Coast and home to his family. (Although I'm still praying that
Charlton opens his ears and eyes and accepts God into his heart).
God has led both Catlin and me through plenty of health issues this year. He saw us safely
through our ear tube surgeries. He has healed both of us as we've been in and out of the ER and
He's given the doctors caring for us wisdom.
He's been with Catlin as she has grown and learned. I've watched her faith bloom (such as when
she tells me "don't worry mommy, just pray"). He's given me the patience to deal with her
tantrums. And He's given Catlin the heart to forgive me when I haven't behaved as I should have.
God has seen Catlin through dangerous situations (most recently the bathrobe sash around her
neck).
He has been with my parents as they built a new house and travelled. God has been with my
grandparents, especially my grandfather when he was hospitalized this summer w/ very dangerous
blood clots in his legs.
And I know that God will continue to be with me and my family. He will continue to guide Catlin,
and Charlton as he settles in his new life in New York, my parents as they help Charlton heal,
my grandparents as they grow older, Matt as he strengthens his personal relationship w/ God,
Matt's family (some of whom are struggling w/ their faith), all of my friends here on the board
and irl, and with me as I continue in my studies. He will lead me to grow and learn and listen
to Him more each day.
WOW!!!!! What a great exercise - thanks Daphne. That really made me think about all of my
blessings from this past year and how much God really has been with me.
