"Mine isn't very creative....(B)rooklyn (P)aige (J)onathan (E)lise'(S) MAMA" Kelly's thoughts on Good Friday (2001) This year the sacrifice Jesus made for me has really hit me in a personal way. Not that he made the sacrifice, but how the sacrifice was done. I can't imagine the anguish of knowing exactly how you are going to be tortured and killed and still face your tormenters with love and not condemnation. The past month or so our pastor has done a series of sermons that describe the events leading up to Jesus' death such as the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus meeting Caiaphas and Pilate, Peter's denial of Jesus, etc. It has all come into perspective so well . . . Almost too well because I feel so ashamed that I have "denied" Jesus like Peter, and I have given in to the masses like Pilate, and I have fallen asleep in my walk while Jesus struggled with my problems, yet he still died so that I could be with his FATHER, my creator. I am sooo not worthy of this cleansing, but I want it so much. I have been praying that I can truly know God, witness his glory firsthand, so that I will understand in my heart instead of just knowing in my head. I pray that all of you can come to this same understanding of the true and humbling miracle of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Kelly
