Parenting Tips: I did the neatest thing with the girls this morning.... I wrote out a fairy tale about a family with 2 little girls. But they didn't have much money so the parents had to go and work for a while to get money for food for the winter. But after months the parents had not returned. Then a fairy Godmother showed up (me) and made a list of 20 things that had to be done so that she could bring their parents back to them. This list included everything from getting dressed, making pebble pancakes (with nuts and choc. chips as the pebbles), playing ring around the rosey, brushing teeth, saying a prayer, sorting laundry and cleaning their rooms. It was all worded in such a manner that they think they are enjoying it... LOL. The list ends with them falling into a deep sleep ( naps ). When they awake thier mommy and daddy will have returned. Just a fun way to get the girls active in what's going on and get them doing work around the house without whining and complaining about every little thing. Have a wonderful day! Cyndi MY 23rd Psalm Feb 27, 2002 Since there has been some discussion on here recently about Psalm 23 I thought I would share my own version with you all. One of the excercises in my bible study right now is to rewrite the Psalm to fit your own personal life. Below mine I've included the outline to follow if this is something you would like to do on your own. My 23rd Psalm... The Lord is my father, I shall never be alone. He provides for me a home. He wraps His arms around me. He comforts my mind. He guides for me the way to heaven and directs me on my paths. Though I sometimes stumble and lose my way I fear not the outcome. I know you are near me. You will pick me up and comfort me. You hold my hand in the company of evil. You anoint my heart with love. Your goodness embraces me. Surely your love will encompass me all the days of my life and I will live in the house with my father forever. Amen YOUR 23RD PSALM... * VERSE 1 - who God is in relation to you (child to a father/ a worker to a boss/ a pupil to a teacher/ a hiker to a guide/ a player to a coach/ a musician to a conductor....for example) - two phrases * VERSE 2 - where He puts you - two phrases * VERSE 3 - the walk you have with HIm - two phrases * VERSE 4 - potential danger and His protection - three phrases * VERSE 5 - God's provision - three phrases * VERSE 6 - your future in this special relationship with God -two phrases Hope you enjoy this exercise. Some of the ones from my group were very powerful. It really is neat though to examine exactly who The Lord is to each of us and how He plays a very different roll for each of us yet leads us all in His path. Cyndi As of August 3, 2002:
