We are a brand new club, this is our first year together as an actual organization of the school, and we are one of the many sports clubs of Virginia Commonwealth University. The club was created by Sophomore Diana Ocampo, President of the Tennis Club, during the summer of 2001. After lots of hard work and recruitment, she was able to organize a whole team of officers and a scheduled season within the Virginia Men's Tennis Club League in a very short amount of time. Coming in as the underdogs, we lost all four very tough matches this fall. Our numbers are rising, though, and we are looking forward to a very fun and intense Spring 2002 season!
Whether you're a big tennis player or you've never picked up a racquet, we'll take you! The Tennis Club was made not only to play competitively against other schools, we also take in anyone who is interested in learning how to play the game. If you are seriously interested in The Tennis Club, come to one of our practices, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9, and Fridays, 6-8, at Thalhimer Tennis Courts, next to the brand new Life Sciences Building and across the street from the Cary St. Gym. Or you can e-mail us anytime!
