Although 'Grace' is my favourite Buckley album, how brilliant are his sketches? I mean, these were just draft versions of original songs, released posthumously and they're bloody fantastic. Jeff Buckley was a musical genius and his death was indeed a tragedy to the industry. 5. It was terrifically exciting and the concert was magnificent - better than I expected it to be. I expected them to play tonnes of stuff from their new (and not so very very cool) album, but we got pretty much all the classics - Lips like Sugar, Bring on the Dancing Horses, The Killing Moon, Ocean Rain etc. There's much more to tell about that night but that shall be done at a later date... 7. Fiona Apple - Paper Bag track 5 on 'When the pawn...' It doesn't hurt that she's pretty either. I remember telling my school-friend how much I loved her music a few years ago - my school-friend's response was 'That stuff? Luna - Bewitched track 4 on 'Bewitched' all of a sudden the girl of my dreams she never asks she always screams do you see her face in a puddle at my feet as i bend down to kiss the street and i'll come runnin' to her and i'll come runnin' to her her sleep is troubled her face will twitch she wakes up angry and i'm bewitched her smile is forced she's always late but she's not sorry and i capitulate and i'll come runnin' to her and i'll come runnin' to her all of a sudden the girl of my dreams she never asks she always screams This is the first Luna song I came across and it started a frenzy. Luna are one of the best bands around - they're kind of Mojave 3-y, Lou Reed-y and slightly Belle and Sebastian-y and Slowdive-y. Anyhoo, they're good, trust me - this song is one of my favourites because the lyrics are so immensely good. 10. Se is truly an awesome performer - better on stage than recorded. Plus she was wearing this gorgeous red dress and spike heels. My kinda girl. PJ Harvey isn't for everyone, but if you want a taste of her at her very best, then go and download this song.
