ROLLER COASTER...DEADLY OR EXCITING? Closer to exciting than deadly, but I'm starting to loose the thrill of being on a track. If you get a chance to ride Xtreme at Six Flags Magic Mountain, that's the way a roller coaster should be. Now, Free-falling...

STORMS - COOL OR SCARY? Romantic; the best time to curl up in front of a fire; a time to reflect.

PEN OR PENCIL? Both. And I won't have to worry about running out, thanks to my future father-in-law (thanks, Wally).

HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE ANSWERING THE PHONE? If it's not within in three, it's probably not for me.

HOW DO YOU DRESS? Stepping out of the shower and toweling off, I pick up and put on my boxers first, then a T-shirt. If it's a work day, that T is an undershirt, soon to be covered with a button up or polo, neither too formal but still respectable, and hardly ever ironed well enough. The boxers are topped (or bottomed) by slacks, matched with a belt, socks and shoes. If the day is more casual, like today, the T is a solid natural color (off-white, hunter green, black), and coordinated with jeans (or denim shorts) and either canvas sneakers (generic All-Stars), sport sandals, or loafers, dependent of course on my intended atmosphere or mood. A flannel or denim shirt, unbuttoned, is a common addition if the temperature allows. casual, not too preppy or grungy, comfortable and interchangeable. Alternate outfits are available for trips up the mountain (hiking boots), to the gym (the sport shorts with cross-trainers), or to costume parties (a complete jacket and slacks outfit tie-dyed).

FAVORITE HALLOWEEN COSTUME? ‘01- Kermit the Frog, life size. ‘Nuff said. ‘99- I dressed as a clown, ran around a huge party of people I’ve never met, honked a horn at them, and passed out lolli-pops. My best Halloween EVER! Best costume though, ‘85- Dad and I designed a Ghostbusters costume that I though look pretty darn cool, and I was equipped with the theme song playing from underneath my proton pack. Way cool.

IF YOU HAD ONE SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Invisibility has always intrigued my mischievous side, and stopping time was a dream for a while, but I would have to go with the old stand-by; flying. There are so many places that I would love to see, but time, money, and the like are constraining. And the view would be breath taking, I would think. I know, it's simple, but it's what I like. (2nd place would be time travel, combined with space teleportation, for very similar reasons. I'd love to see the World's Fair in 1900, the Acropolis in all it's glory, to walk the halls of Neuschwanstein castle while it was being built).

WHAT FICTITIOUS CHARACTER(S) DO YOU MOST RESEMBLE? WHAT CHARACTER(S) WOULD YOU MOST WANT TO RESEMBLE? Resemble: Stanley Ipkiss and his alter-ego, the Mask, (based after the Jim Carrey movie, not the comic books, which I have never read) with a twist of Kermit the Frog. Want to Resemble: Same.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE SUPER HERO? My dad. He may not be super all of the time, but he always is a hero to me.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KENNY DEATH? OK, since the movie version shouldn't necessarily count (although Kenny's first escapades in hell are so wonderfully animated), the Zombie Halloween concentrates more on his resurrection and flesh devouring than on his death, and the X-mas episode where he survives is in a class by itself, I would have to say... gee, it's been far too long since I've seen South Park... the time when he died, Kyle says "Oh my God, they killed Kenny!" and the rats come along and eat him. Yes, that specific one, that is definitely my favorite.

FUTURE SON'S NAME? To be jointly chosen by my wife and I. Definitely not Mitch Jr. (someone mentioned Benjamin once...)

FUTURE DAUGHTERS NAME? To be jointly chosen by my wife and I. Kara has stuck with me recently, though… And I like Kayide. (someone also mentioned Hannah recently...)

DO YOU GET ALONG WITH YOUR PARENTS? Father, pretty well, although I can never get a good feeling what he thinks of me... it's best to meet him when he's wearing a shirt and not eating a knife full of peanut butter. Mother, we have grown apart and then reconnected recently, but we love each other and let the other live their own life just the same.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A CRIME? Never convicted. Never caught.

IF YOU WERE TO SAY "MAH NA MAH NA", WHAT WOULD HAPPEN? In the view of the rest of the world, not much. Inside my head, though, Muppets would begin to dance and sing, jumping out of corners and being all together… Muppety.

DO YOU SAY "MA-CHURE" OR "MA-TOUR" WHEN PRONOUNCING MATURE? You say ee-ther and I say eye-ther. I say I'm nee-ther as well as neye-ther. Stable, crazy, active, lazy, let's call the whole thing off.

UNCONTROLLABLE/UNEXPLAINABLE FEARS? Not really. I have had fits of paranoia once or twice, but they really WERE out to get me, so I deem those explainable.

FAVORITE FOOD? Breakfast: Pancakes and fruit, Belgian waffles and fruit, vegetable and cheese omelets, Basic 4 cereal, lots of juices. Lunch: Deli Sub Sandwiches, Deep-Dish pizza, chili, Grandma's chicken soup, PB&J. Dinner: Hot & Spicy Chinese chicken dishes, Egg Foo Young, egg rolls. Desert: Pies of all varieties, strawberry-banana smoothies.

CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA? Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.

FAVORITE ICE CREAM? Rocky Road, Orange Sherbet with Chocolate Chips

FAVORITE TOWN TO CHILL IN? Chicago, although Seattle, WA, and Des Moines, IA, each have their qualities. 'm learning to love Monrovia more and more.

IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY COLOR WHAT WOULD IT BE? Tried it once, will never do it again. (If only I could convince Kim to stop)

SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER? I use both. A necessity for fine hair like mine.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE?? Ever? I'd say yes, most affirmatively. As a matter of fact, I am right now.

BEST ON-LINE FRIENDS? Kim- my constant companion. Marty- my composer. Alicia- my lost&found friend.

A NUCLEAR MISSILE IS HEADING FOR YOUR TOWN. IT WILL BE THERE IN 30 MINUTES. WHAT DO YOU DO? Grab a lawn chair, a pair of sunglasses, climb up on the roof, and wave goodbye. Now, with an hour, I would probably change that location to a fantastic look-out point on the mountain range near my house. Not too far up, the hike to that point is 2.5 miles and can be jogged in 45 minutes pretty easily, and would be a perfect place from which to watch the world disappear.

WHAT IS ON THE WALLS OF YOUR ROOM? A growing green vine, candle sconces, pictures of our wedding, and a whole lot of potential

WHAT IS UNDER YOUR BED? A lot of space to hide a body.

IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL? The glass will always be half to me. Never getting what I desire yet always satisfied with what I have is a belief I try to hold dear to me.

ARE YOU RIGHT, LEFTY OR AMBI? If we're talking about writing, righty. I've tried to train myself to use my left hand more, but I'm just not coordinated enough. Left is usually right, but when left isn't right, right is all that's left, right?

DO YOU TYPE WITH YOU FINGERS ON THE RIGHT KEYS? Considering I've never taken a typing class, I'd say that they are the right keys for me.

IF YOU COULD BE ONE GARDENING TOOL WHAT WOULD YOU BE? Dirt aerator; the only garden tool I've ever driven into someone's head. (the story rates as one of my least favorite childhood memories)

WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD THAT IS MORE VALUABLE TO YOU NOW THAN IT WAS THEN? Sesame Street. Still the most important TV program for children, and so much funnier now that I get all of the jokes.

SANTA CLAUS, REAL OR FICTIONAL? Was there once a Saint Nicholas, giving gifts to the poor on a cold winter's eve? Probably. Is there a fat man who has the ability to travel around the world, bring joy to children and adults anywhere, as long as they admit to paying homage to either the tyrannical lords of Merchandising and Media? I would like to think that the good points of Santa Claus (the child-like innocence, the good will toward all, the joy of cookies) exist in each and every one of us, and it should be more often than just one time a year, a time completely revamped by many religions to suit their own purposes, that this "jolly old elf" can try to make the world a better place.

FORTY-TWO IS THE ANSWER TO LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND WHAT? OK, there are few different answers here. Going strictly by titles, Life & the Universe should be followed by Everything, part 3 of the sacred 5-part Hitchhiker's trilogy. Although, if memory serves me correct, it was 6 times 9 that ended up as 42 somewhere along the way. 42 could very well also be the inverse of two dozen, the number of non-royal cards in a deck (considering Jokers more as entertaining peasants than royalty), or the number of days of gestation for small fish (for which we thank you for).

DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE? Absolutely.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAR? It hasn't been built. Nothing can handle well enough for the way I drive.

TYPE OF CAR YOU DRIVE NOW? '99 Saturn SL2, blackberry w/ black interior. Name- Phaedrus.

FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH? Bulls Championship Basketball, a thing of the past. Dog chasing (Kim chasing Trinity). Broomball.

HAVE YOU EVER GONE SKINNY-DIPPING? Yes, and willing to do so again.

DO YOU MAKE FUN OF PEOPLE? I'd say it's one of my favorite past-times. Maliciousness aside, of course.

FAVORITE WORD? Either "absolutely" or "utterly", I can't decide.

IS IT SNEAKED OR SNUCK? Technically, it's either, but I prefer snuck. It just sounds better.

WORD YOU CAN'T STAND? "never"

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON A SNIPE HUNT? Yes, and I'm willing to take you on one, too.

CATS OR DOGS? Cats I’m more likely to play with, dogs to clean up after, but Trinity is training me well for both.

PETS? I've never been a pet person before, but I never had a chance to have a real one as a child. Again, Trinity is catching me up on this.

FAVORITE TYPE OF FAMILY GAME TO PLAY? My father always enjoyed buying a bag of water balloons when we went on vacation. We would fill them up, then bring them out to the hotel pool and start tossing them around. Before you knew it, everyone in the pool had a balloon, and lots of people would thank us for making the night more enjoyable.

Since I don't spend a lot of time in hotel pools anymore, I guess my new favorite is seeing how much of a spectacle I can instigate in public before someone in my current group gets frightened/scared/embarrassed and tells me to grow up.

WHAT IS YOUR BAD TIME OF DAY? Anytime when work takes priority. I'd rather be playing, or relaxing, or nearly anything else.

FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR? Since the Winter Holiday Season has lost a bit of it's spark for me over the years, I'll go with any clear, crisp autumn day.

FAVORITE PERFUME OR COLOGNE? None. I wear Escape (CK) occassionally, but I'm not stuck on it. I don't know what attracts me. I prefer the natural look, so I guess I prefer the natural smell as well.

GUY'S - IF A GIRL ASKED FOR THE SHIRT OFF YOUR BACK, WOULD YOU GIVE IT? Absolutely, and have done it. Chivalry is not dead. I would be willing to accept a return of the favor as well.

SHOULD THE TOILET PAPER COME OFF THE FRONT OR THE BACK OF THE ROLL? The front; it gives the grabber more accessibility to the TP without the concern of having their possibly dirty fingers touch the wall. Ewww.

IF YOU COULD MEET ONE PERSON, DEAD OR ALIVE, WHO WOULD IT BE? A toughie, so I’ll list a few... Theodore Geisel (aka Dr. Suess), the most amazing children’s author; William Shakespeare, the man that captured the human spirit within a cage of words; Stephen King, especially if I could arrange for him to tell stories to my friends around a campfire for one night; Jim Henson, an artist in so many realms, a man lost before his time; Robin Williams and Andy Kaufman, comic geniuses; Louis Armstrong, to hear him perform live just once

WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW? I have many smaller goals, but the ultimate? I guess the goal that pervades into all others is the ability to make people happy. Bringing joy to others makes me feel good about myself (as selfish as it sounds) and makes me believe that kindness can prevail in the desolated heartless society we are building around ourselves. I try to do it every day, and it makes that day the best day it can be when I succeed.
