Gravel

Not too much to say about this other than the fact that it is personal preference.  There are basically two types of gravel you can have:  sand or rocks.  Although there are different variations of gravel and sand.  Gravel comes in all sorts of different colors and size.  Sand does as well.

Most starter tanks start with the traditional gravel with the color of your choice.  There are all sorts of colors to chose from so the only thing to keep in mind is what color is going to make your fish stand out.  If you chose too dark of a color, you may wind up not being able to see your fish.

Also, keep in mind that you will need enough gravel to stack at least 1 1/2 - 2 inches above the under gravel filter plate.  You should be provided with enough gravel to start out with when you purchase the tank.
