| Part Eleven Two days after Lana was taken to the hospital, she was out. The doctors ran all tests and all of them came out negative, but she had to go back in a week to run another pregnancy test just to make sure. They doctors diagnosed her with the current flu that was going around and sent her home with some painkillers for her aches and a stern order to get some bedrest and take it easy. "Oh man, I am so glad to be outta there." Lana said, breathing in the fresh air as Clark pushed her out the front doors in a wheelchair. She still had fainting and dizzy spells, so it was manditory that she move around in a wheelchair for the next few days. "I'm glad to have you out. It was getting lonly on the farm without you." he said. Mr. Kent who had gone ahead to get the truck pulled up to the curb. Before Lana could get out of the wheelchair by herself, Clark picked her up and placed her carefully in the front seat, she couldn't help but giggle and enjoy it. "How are you feeling?" Johnathan asked Lana. "You gave us all quite a scare." "I'm feeling okay. Not great though. I've had days." she replied. After Clark had put the wheelchair in the back of the truck and closed the tailgate, he got in beside Lana, placing a protective arm around her. Johnathan pretended not to notice, but he watched them out of the corner of his eye as he drove back to the farm. When they got there Martha was at work. Clark picked up his girlfriend. "You are gonna get some rest." he told her. "I've been in bed for two days straight. I don't need anymore rest." Lana protested half heartedly. She did feel tired and worn out from all the craziness that went on while she was in the hospital. All the tests the doctors did, it was really draining. Clark smiled as she yawned. "I can see that." he said and took her upstair to put her to bed. Johnathan watched them until they were up the stairs and out of sight. He knew there was something bigger going on here that he wasn't aware of. It was time to have a heart to heart with his son. After putting Lana to bed, Clark came back downstairs and was greeted with a very pensive looking father. "Whats up dad?" he asked walking into the kitchen to get something to drink. "Are you and Lana sleeping together?" he asked bluntly. Clark froze and turned to face his father. "Why do you ask?" Clark questioned right back. "When I was in the hospital today talking to the doctor, he mentioned something about a pregnancy test they would be running in a week or two." Johnathan challenged Clark to lie to him. "Have you and Lana had sex?" And he was about to lie, but then decided his dad needed to know the truth. "Yes." he answered briefly. Johnathan took a deep breath and ran a hand through his blond hair. "Look, dad, it's not what you think." Clark defended himself. "How do you know what I'm thinking?" he asked. "My son is sleeping with his girlfriend and didn't tell me. That's what I'm thinking." "I'm sorry. I didn't want you to freak out and make her leave." he confessed. He was about to say that his mom knew but decided against it. It would only get his mom in trouble too. Johnathan was quiet for a beat. Then asked, "What makes you think I would kick her out?" he didn't think he would have if he had been told sooner. Would he? He didn't know for sure. "Because you were hesitant to let Lana live here at all. She had to prove to you that she was useful in the kitchen before you eased off." Clark pointed out. He knew that was right. Johnathan had been very edgy about Clark and girlfriend living under the same roof. "Are you in love with Lana, Clark?" he asked. "Yes. Of course." Clark said without any hesitation whatsoever. "And she loves me too. We're both mature and we old enough to make the desition to sleep together." he told his father, trying to keep his voice low as to not disturb his sleeping girlfriend, and to keep the respect for his father in his voice. "Okay. I'm not so sure this is a good idea, but I know that I trust you. Just be careful we don't know what effect your abilities may have on her or if you can impregnate her." Johnathan said. "Of course, dad." Clark replied. And not another word was spoken on the topic. ~*~*~*~*~ *RING RING* The phone shrilled, cutting into the silence that filled the house. Clark rushed to pick it up. "Hello?" he said into the receiver. "Hello. This is Smallville Memorial Hospital calling if Miss. Lana Lang in?" came a female receptionist voice from the other end of the line. "She's sleeping. Can I take a message?" Clark asked. "Is this Clark Kent?" asked the voice. "Yeah." "We just want to inform you that Lana has an appointment in a few days." The woman told him. "We know. Thanks." he hung up before the woman could say any more. "Who was that, Clark?" Lana asked from the bottom of the stairs. It had been five days since she got home from the hospital and she had been upstairs and in bed for the majority. Clark smiled, she looked much better. She still got sick every now and then, but she wasn't as bad as when she was in the hospital. "Hey, it was just the doctor reminding us that you have an appointment on Friday." he told her, moving to pull her into his arms. He missed seeing her up and about. Lana sighed happily, it felt good to be back in these arms. It felt like it had been forever since she was by him like this, she felt like she was coming home. "Another doctor. Man, you'd think I had cancer or something." she joked laughing a little. Clark chuckled. "They already ran those tests." he reminded her with a teasing smile. She lifted her head from his chest and looked up into his eyes. "What's wrong?" he asked seeing her eyes well up. "Nothing. I just... Clark, what would have happened if I they found out I was pregnant?" she asked him. He was speechless. He hadn't thought about it. He had been so preoccupied with taking care of her that he just didn't have time to think about what they would do. "I'm not sure. I couldn't happen unless you forgot to take a pill." he said. "Yeah. I know. But, if somehow I did forget and I got pregnant... what would happen to us?" she asked him again. A tear trickled down her cheek and Clark wiped it away. "Nothing would change, if that's what your asking. I would still love you as much as I ever did. If you did get pregnant, we'd find a way to deal... together." he told her. She smiled through her tears and kissed him deeply. As the kiss heated up she reached up and ran her hand through his soft hair, the other gripped his shoulder. It seemed like forever since he had kissed her like this, and he wasted no time he pulling her flush up against him, their tongues dueling for dominence. They were interupted when there was a knock at the screen door. They both groaned and Clark when to answer it. "Hey Lex." he greeted his friend. "What's up?" "Just thought I'd stop by and see you. Haven't talked to you in a while." Lex said. "Okay. Come in." He stepped aside and Lex crossed the treshold. When he got into the kitchen Lana was standing with her hand on the counter to steady herself. "Lana?" he questioned worriedly. He quickly moved to take her into his arms. She leaned against his chest. "Lana? Are you okay." Lex asked, coming closer. "She's got that flu." Clark explained. "I'm just gonna take her back to bed." he told his friend. Lex nodded and watched as Clark picked Lana up with great ease and carried her up the stairs without even wincing. Lex shrugged it off, she must just be really light, Lex through to himself. When Clark came back downstairs Lex asked, "Is she going to okay?" "The doctors say she'll be fine, but it doesn't seem like it. She's been having dizzy spells. They used to be worse though, so I guess she's getting better." Clark told his friend. They stepped out onto the outside front porch so their talking wouldn't disturb Lana. "How long has she been like this?" Lex asked. "About a week. I've been staying home from school to watch over her. She sleeps most of the time." Clark replied. "I really hope she gets better soon." "She will. This flu usually lasts about a week. My father had it, I was sure he was going to die. But no such luck." the bald businessman said. Clark chuckled. "Yeah, well, if Lana doesn't get better soon, I'm taking her back to the hospital." "That's the good idea." Lex agreed. Suddenly Clark turned to go back in the house. "Where you goin?" he asked. "I heard Lana call me." Clark said matter of factly. "I'll be right back." then he disappeared into the house. Lex strained his ears but heard nothing. How did Clark hear Lana calling him when Lex himself, who had perfect hearing, standing right next to Clark, didn't hear anything besides the birds chirping. It was very suspicious. ~*~*~*~*~ The next day was Thursday. Clark went to school to get his catch up homework. "Hey Sexy." Lois greeted him as she walked up to him at his locker. "Lois, hi." Clark said back. "I have to go." taking his books and walking away. Lois stopped him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Come on. Don't be that way." she said, leaning in as if to kiss him. Clark stepped back and pulled her arms off him. "Leave me alone, Lois." he ordered and walked around her toward the exit. She let out a little growl of frustration and caught up to him grabbing him and planting a kiss on his lips. Clark was so shocked he dropped his books and pushed her away. "Yummy." Lois said almost at a whisper. "Lois, look, I'm in love with Lana, okay. I know you have some weird obcession with breaking us up, but it won't happen. So drop it." Clark told her firmly then walked around her again and out of front door of the school. Everyone that was left in the halls watched Lois as she cried out in anger and stormed off in the opposite direction. "I'll show you Kent." she growled to herself. ~*~*~*~*~ "Honey, I'm home." Clark called out as he walked through the door of his house. Lana was sitting on the couch watching Friends on tv. She turned her head at the sound of his voice. "Hey." she greeted him with a radiant smile. She had missed him that day. Clark dropped his school bag on the floor beside the door then moved toward her. She stood up and hugged and kissed him hello. "Wow, you look so much better." he told her, feeling her forehead and finding no fever at all. "I feel like a million bucks." she told him giddily, kissing him again, this time more passionately leading him back to the couch and laying down. Clark smiled against her lips and opened her robe, slipping a hand inside. "I missed this so much." she panted, moaning in pleasure as his hand found its way up to her breast. "Me too." he said between kisses. "I'm so glad your back to your old self." after that no more talking was heard only moans and sighs and lips smacking and the occasional 'I love yous'. ~*~*~*~*~ Part Twelve Lois was furious. That bitch Lana had Clark wrapped around her pathetic little finger. What did Lana have that she didn't have.... Clark... Lois didn't have Clark, Lana did. Lois gritted her teeth and slammed her fist into the wall, breaking through the hanging punching bag, ripping a hole in the leather. "Dammit. Third time this week." she scowled, brushing the filling off her fist. She couldn't wait any longer. Tonight was the night. She rushed over to her dresser and pulled out the small metal box. She carefully lifted the lid and took out the small red meteor rock. She eyed it in awe as it glowed in her hand. "Oh yes. Tonight is the night." ~*~*~*~*~ Lana bounced happily down the stairs. "Clark?" she called. No answer. "Clark where are you?!" she called again. Panic rose inside her as her heart sped up. She rushed to the counter and calmed when there was a note lying there. Lana, I'm in the barn. Love Clark. She smiled and left the house to head for the barn. When she got there the there were no lights on and no one was there. Lana's brow furrowed. She turned to see the large wooden bat coming down on her head and then darkness. ~*~*~*~*~ Clark got hurried up to the house after finishing mending the fence. He walked into the house to find a not on the counter. It read: Hey Sexy, If you ever want to see your precious Lana Lang EVER again you'll come, alone, to the warehouse on Douglas road at midnight. Get anyone else involved, she dies. You don't show, she dies. Your late, she dies. I'll be waiting. Love always Lois Lane "Oh God." Clark whispered. Anger flared, his eyes burned and he had to close them to keep from setting his house on fire. That crazy bitch pushed him too far. He was fine when she was only after him, but no one messed with this farm boy's girl. ~*~*~*~*~ Lois cooed as Lana came awake, when she looked up and saw her captor she instantly tried to struggle and scream, but she was gagged and chained to a metal chair. "Sorry about the bondage. You know, I never did understand why Tina was so obcessed with you. I guess I'll never get to ask her." Lois chirped gleefully. 'Don't be so sure' Lana thought, glaring up at Lois, hating her helpless state. Lois moved closer and towered over Lana, "I bet I know what you thinking. Your thinking 'Clark will save me. Clark is my hero, he loves me', well too bad sister he'll be mine before he'll ever see you again." Lois turned away and sauntered to the small metal box on her dresser. "You know. I hate doctors. They tell you you're insane when really, you're just in love. Love makes you do insane things." she said, breaking into an evil laugh and taking out the small red meteor rock. She walked back to Lana, "Clark didn't tell you about this little rock did he?" Lana gave a curious look. "Didn't think so. This is kryonite. Red krytonite to be exact. There's this professor, I held a knife to his throat and made him tell me about it." Lois laughed again and then jumped at Lana, their faces were an inch apart. "It does wonderful things to Clark's personality. It makes him be a bad boy." she said evilly. "And that bad boy..." she pushed away from Lana and flopped on her small bed, "... is gonna be mine." Lana looked around at the small room in the warehouse-like building. She knew that since Lois wanted Clark so much, that she definitely sent him a message to come here. She looked over at Lois once more, the crazy looney bin escapee was craddling the small meteor rock like it was a child. A very tiny child. Was it true what she said about it? It might explain a few things that have been nagging at her. Like the time Clark went crazy and trashed a bar on their date. The kiss in The Talon that was hotter than hot. Of course they have had hotter kisses since then, but at the time, it was really hot. 'Crazy bitch. She doesn't understand the first thing about Clark.' She thought with a huff. ~*~*~*~*~ "Clark. You can't go. Let me call the mentel hospital in Metropolis and they'll deal with this." Johnathan told him son. Clark looked like he was gonna cry. "Dad, she's got Lana. She's gonna kill her if I don't show. I can't just let someone else handle this." he argued. "I'm calling the mental hospital. That girl is out of her mind." Johnathan said, putting his foot down. "You do, you get Lana killed." Clark said, his voice cracking. Johnathan instantly felt bad. "Just wait until one o' clock then call. It's almost midnight. I have to go." "Clark wait!" Martha called. But he was already speeding out of the house and out of sight. "He's smart." she told her husband. "He'll know what to do." "Yeah. I guess all we can do now is pray." Johnathan embraced his wife. ~*~*~*~*~ Lois was staring at her watch in the main production room of the abandoned warehouse. Lana was locked upstairs in what used to be the managers quarters. She grinned extatically when Clark broke down the heavy metal door and walked up to her threateningly. "Where's Lana!" he demanded loudly. Lois giggled. "Don't worry about Lana. She's fine. All cozy and locked in a chair. She's not goin anywhere." she stepped closer and put her hands on his chest. "Where is she?" he said in a dangerous voice, clenching his jaw to keep his emotions in check. He was afraid what would happen if he let go of his control. She just shrugged and discreetly slipped the small meteor rock onto his jacket pocket. "You'll soon forget about her." she said softly. As the effects of the red rock took over Clark's eyes flashed red. "Maybe you're right." he said, gripping her shoulders as if to kiss her, but instead he picked her up and flung her across the room and hit the far wall and thunk to the floor. "Or maybe you're just a cheap whore who thinks that she can control me by slipping me a meteor rock." he said as he stocked to her and picked her up by her hair. "Sorry, hunny. I'm goin with the latter." then he punched her hard enough to knock her out. "Night night." he said over his shoulder as he walked away from her unconscious form. He quickly shucked off his jacket and threw it away from him before the meteor took full effect then he ran up the metal stairs and into the catwalk that circled the warehouse. "LANA!!" he hollered. "LANA!!!" ~*~*~*~*~ Lana's head shot up. "LANA!" came Clark's voice again. She jumped into action, mentally jumped anyway, and made noises with the chair on the floor and moaning loudly. She heard his footsteps rush to the door she was behind. She knew it was metal, two inches thick, but Clark busted it down like it was paper. "Lana." he said, relief washing over him in waves. He hurried over to her and took the duct tape off her mouth. "Clark. I knew you'd come." she said, her voice hoarse with emotion. Clark kissed her quickly, then melted the chains with his eyes pulling them of her hands and ankles. "Come on. The police will probably be here soon." he said helping her stand up. Then he noticed the nasty bruise on her forehead, he brushed careful fingers over it. "I should have beat her more." he said. Then he picked her up and took her out of the room and down the steps of the catwalk. When they got to the main floor of the warehouse, where Lois was just regaining consciousness, Lana said, "Let me down." Clark obeyed and Lana walked up to her captor. The crazy bitch opened her eyes and looked up her Lana. "You haven't won the war, Lana." Lois said hoarsly, she was obviously in pain. Lana couldn't help but laugh. "Maybe... maybe not. But at least of I have Clark and my sanity. Oh and my consciousness. Which is more than I can say for you." Lana said hands on hips. Lois gave her a curious look. Lana smiling coldly explained by hauling off and delivering a swift, hard kick right in Lois' bloody face. "Crazy bitch." she inquired to her still form. Then turned and went into her loving boyfriends arms. "Are you okay?" he asked her. Lana looked up at him and smiled. "Better than ever." Clark smiled too and led her out of the warehouse. ~*~*~*~*~ "So. Lois was in the same mental institution as Tina was." Martha told the group at the kitchen table while they were all having a really early breakfast. "Did that doctor tell you that?" Clark asked, content that his wonderful girlfriend was sitting beside him, sure she was sporting a slight bump and bruise on her forehead, but she was safe and with him again. "Yeah. Lois escaped shortly after Tina was killed. I guess she heard about it." Johnathan answered. Lana shivered at the memory of being held in that small metal room for so long. "I'm just so glad it's over. The doctors came and took her back to that place where she had get some help." Lana said, squeezing Clarks hand that she held under the table. Clark looked at her and smiled. "I'm glad too." he said, leaning closer to her to share an quick peck on the lips. "We should get to bed. I'm beat." he said. Johnathans head shot up at that comment. "In our separate rooms." he added for his dad benefit. Lana looked from Clark to his dad and knew that his parents probably knew about their intimate relatioship status. She blushed and followed Clark to the stair. "Good night." she said to mr. and mrs. Kent then climbed the stair. "Night mom and dad." he said before following his girlfriend up the stairs. When Clark reached the top of the stairs he saw Lana waiting by her bedroom door for him. "I'm too scared to sleep alone tonight." she confessed as he came up to her and took her into his arms. She instantly put her own arms around him and hugged him close. "Okay." he replied, placing a gentle kiss to her forehead and took her to his room. "I'm sure my parents won't mind." he told her, picking her up and laying her on the side of the bed closest to the wall. He closed the door and turned off the light before joining her and pulled his quilt over them. When she snuggled close to him he put his arm around her and noticed she was shaking. "Don't worry, baby." he said. "Lois is locked away from good." Lana smiled nodded against his chest and relaxed. As long as she was here with him, no one could hurt her. He called her baby, was the happy thought that filled her mind as she drifted off to sleep. Clark stayed awake for few hours just staring at the ceiling and listening to her breathe in and out, occasionally letting out a tiny snore. It was just starting to get light out when he closed his eyes and joined his love in dreamland. ~*~*~*~*~ Lois' body twitched and shook in her padded cell. "Nobody likes me everybody hates me think I'll go eat worms." she sang lazily to herself, holding the Ken doll in her hands that had a picture of Clark's face taped in the place of Ken's. Then she reached out and broke it's head clean off. bursting into an uncontrollable crazy cackle, she threw the broken doll across the room. ~*~*~*~*~ The End BACK |
