Craigslist Search

This application was developed out of interest to learn new Microsoft technology (WPF, WinFx, .Net 3.0). It facilitates user to search Jobs and Sales items on craigslist in various geographies.

The search criteria and geography are stored locally and retrieved for the next session. It gives ability to the user to Navigate easily between items (jobs/sales) and remembers the history of the visited items. The history is for user�s convenience only and is neither stored anywhere nor transmitted to any server.

The application was developed using Visual C# Express Edition, WPF (.NET 3.0) and C#. The software uses RSS feeds from craigslist

Installation Instructions:

1. Please make sure that you have .NET 3.0 Runtime. It can be downloaded from here.

2. Download the zip file .(Dt:07/23/2007)

3. Unzip it in the desired folder and double-click ClSearch.application file. It will install the application.

How to Use?

Searching for a job

Just enter your search criteria in the text box. The criteria are treated in the same way as craigslist. Hit Enter or press search button.

In the left section, the results will be shown in a tree indicating count in each area. Expand the tree to see title of each job.

Click on the desired job in the tree and the corresponding page will be displayed in the right side. User can navigate by using tree.

User can also see the history by pressing back or forward button (same as Internet Explorer).

Searching for a Sale

Same as job.
