Where It All Began:
In 2004, Caleb Shields (now owner/producer), recorded a CD for some of his brother's college friends. After the CD was completed, with little equipment and little space, Caleb made multiple copies to give out to family and friends. Little did he know this would be what started it all.
"I didn't think the quality would be that great," reflects Caleb. " I just recorded the CD to impress some of my bro's college pals. When people would talk to me about guitar or music in general, I would bring up the CD and make them a CD of what I recorded and let them voice their opinion."
After landing in the hands of local band
Crooked Smile, the band was amazed by the quality.
"I talked to their guitarist and told them if they wanted to they could come over and record. I just wanted to learn more about recording. I had no drums or bass to record at my home so I thought it'd be fun to kinda' play around with."
      In May of 2004
Crooked Smile made their debut album at C.L. Recording's make-shift studio, complete with CD and picture design.
"Truthfully, I amazed myself. I didn't think the recording wouldv'e turned out quite as good as it did. The CD  really seeemed to make people say, ' Wow! A couple of young kids did this and it didnt turn out too bad.'. C.L. Recording's CD's have fallen into hands of many famous touring acts like
Story of the Year and Anberlin. As C.L. Recording grows in popularity, that which also grows is experience and creativity. "I have to admit, before I knew much about recording, I didn't think much of it. Now I think 'how can I have this much fun doing it'. The years C.L. Recording has been running are terrific. This company will have a very good impact on my present and future life."
Caleb Shields' Bio:
Caleb is 15 years old and is in 10th grade at WHS. His full name is Caleb Leo Shields, which explains where the company name came from. Caleb plays guitar, saxophone, and piano . He plans on going to college and getting a degree in a music field, such as recording, music business management, technology, or music/theory. He hopes to go to Berklee College of Music, but has many others in mind. Being only 15, Caleb has a lot of his career, whether music or another field, just ahead of him. Just as his personal motto reflects in life as well as music, " If something gets knocked down once, you can rebuild it better the next time."
