Michael Keaton's portrayal emphasized the pain of being Batman
Jack Nicholson IS the Joker in this film. A great portrayal of Batman's greatest enemy.
In my opinion, the first Bat-film is the greatest. The story was very well done, the cast was perfect, and it has the best villain. Jack Nicholson as the Joker almost stole the show. But you can never forget Michael Keaton's stunning portrayal of the Dark Knight. In this film if you look at him in the eyes, you would believe that his parents were murdered in front of him, just like Bruce Wayne's. It also had (in my opinion) the best Batmobile. Anyways, on to this film's review: Five Stars for Cast: as I said, the people involved are incredible! Four and a half stars for story: Some low points in it, but overall true to Batman. Five stars for director: Tim Burton was very much involved with the HUGE success of this film in the summer of 1989. OVERALL SCORE FIVE STARS My favorite of the four live-action Bat-films.
