The day I received Emilee from Woodhaven Farms was a dream come true, and was made even more special
because she was named after a special girl named Emilee Hamman.
Emilee was a little flighty doe with an impressive pedigree; however, we couldn't tell what her future in the show ring would be....
...but I had fallen for her, so we brought her home more for her ability to steal our hearts than for her ability to steal ribbons in the show ring!
Pretty soon we bred her, and excitement grew as we expected our first Clover Springs little
ones.
On April 2, 2002, Emilee gave birth to two big healthy kids, Clover Springs Lady-odelay and
Clover Springs Gideon.
We decided to show her at the No Name Show, but we didn't really expect her to WIN!
When she was placed at one end of the line, I couldn't help but wonder that maybe, just maybe...
...she was first place! Emilee won Reserve Grand Champion Doe out of 27 in her class and 47 in
the show. I was handed her ribbon as tears welled up in my eyes, and I felt so lucky that I had been given...
...such a special doe named after such a special girl.
To Mrs. Kritter and Woodhaven Farms who made all of this possible, THANK YOU!!!
