The Unholy class is an attempt to build cheap cruisers to make up for the lack of knowledge required to build light cruisers.  These vessels are designed to be easily built and maintained while still packing a decent amount of firepower.  However they are not nearly as manoeuvrable as an imperial light cruiser.  The first ship was assigned to a battle squadron for evaluation, but as more are being completed, they will be assigned other tasks, such as patrols in pairs or leading escort squadrons.   Only time will tell if they are successful.
