These class of heavy escorts was also sighted recently, though it is unknown if these ships are a new addition or are longer in service and weren't sighted earlier. They seem to be mainly patrol ships with long endurance and pack a decent punch.  Their most significant feature is the addition of hangar bays. These seem to be much more extensive than these on the smaller and cramped Charybdis class escorts. Indeed, they even carry a small complement of boarding craft, probably to seize unwanted intruders, smugglers and to perform interdiction raids when engaged in fleet actions. Also, they have a fairly large complement of Swiftdeath space superiority fighters and some Doomfire bombers aboard, making them more than dangerous.  Their speed and manoeuvrability put them on par with light cruisers, though they are nowhere as resistant to damage as the latter. However, the Unclean class (as they were dubbed), has twice as many defensive turrets.
