The craftworld of Elandor has been an enigmatic thorn in
the side of the Imperial Navy inside the Gothic sector. Responsible
for many piratical raids on imperial shipping and disrupting many trade
routes thought to be secure. The eldar of this particular craftworld are
known to be aggressive in their military actions but have shown restraint
and mercy to a certain few of their foes. Of particular accounts was the
massacre of Gyywns World where the colonist planets meagre defence guard
was decimated in a swift blinding attack that occurred over a three-day
period. The colonists and non combatants, even though prepared to take
up arms to defend themselves, prepared to be slaughtered as were their
protectors yet the far seers and warlocks of the assault force offered
the colonists mercy if the left the world and never returned. Of note also
was a border engagement where a white scars strike cruiser, Tempus fury
stumbled upon an eldar shadow cruiser with three escorts. Thinking them
pirates caught at bay the space marine cruiser attacked and destroyed an
escort with the first salvo. Using baiting and hit and run manoeuvres the
small eldar force managed to temporary disable the cruisers engines and
leave it sitting dead in space, easy prey to picked off at the eldar’s
leisure. To the marines surprise the eldar circled warily to make sure
the marines were defenceless and then left without finishing of the crippled
cruiser. Later the very same marine cruiser stumbled upon a debris field
of Traitor escorts around the moon of Pluvar 4, with the rebel ships evidently
destroyed by eldar weapons. Of the eldar no sign was seen.
Speculation of the craftworld’s unique approach to alien contact is based upon accounts made from contacts with rangers from the craftworld. Records say that the craftworld was somewhat separated from the majority of Eldar civilization, with the craftworld being on the very outer expanse of the galaxy. Even though it did not escape the effects of the fall, it was able to distance itself somewhat from the tragedy. Ever since then the craft world has been drifting through space, offering what it can in the way of support and help for it's other more beleaguered cousins. Many a time the craftworld has been a haven for lost eldar travellers of another world. Of it's very militaristic approach to alien contact, it is thought that this is due to it having many remaining intact aspect shrines, as well as having seen the effect of the encroachment of aliens upon the other craftworlds. The Elandor craftworld supports a large fleet of stellar craft.
Lord Prince Andreal is the current High commander of the craftworld’s fleets.
His personal vessel, Andreal’s Chariot is one of the very few Void Stalker
class Battleships seen in the Gothic sector. Those under his command include
Prince Elthaioran who is responsible for the capture of many imperial vessels
at the command of his Eclipse class cruiser. Also Prince Calaedorn who
is a sly merciless commander, leading the crew of his Shadow class cruiser
to many victories over chaos and imperial ships alike.
