Cloud Nine Band Members
Formed in March 1999, Cloud Nine has been moving in an upward direction ever since. Founding members Matt Crain and Brandon Like had played together for over 3 years prior to the band's creation. The addition of Eric Cowdrey on drums enabled the trio to write some more serious songs, and numerous live performances soon followed. The late interjection of Adam Knoll on bass completed the group. Over 50 songs filtered down to a 11 track CD of original music, released in November 1999. The release not only resulted in repeated radio airplay on the local rock station (103.9 WRBR FM), but also earned them a considerable fan base. After taking a six month break, during which the band played in support of its debut album and wrote new material, Cloud Nine recorded its second CD, titled Easy, in mid-March of 2000. Cloud Nine is currently playing shows around the Elkhart/South Bend/Mishawaka area in a variety of venues. Get on top of Cloud Nine...

Hailing from Chicago, Eric Cowdrey has always had rhythm coursing through his veins. Without a doubt the most versatile musician in Cloud Nine, Eric's ability flows a little more naturally than the other members. Picking up new beats fast and well is his strong point, yet his suggestions, ranging from guitar fills to backing vocals, are invaluable. Most importantly, Eric's optimistic attitude and pure love of the music forms the bond that holds Cloud Nine together.

Brndn01b.jpg (24165 bytes)      Nicknamed the "evilstooge", Brandon Like is the body behind the riffs of Cloud Nine. Riffs and short leads that stick to the mind like crazy glue flow from the "evilstooge" like beer from a tap.  He writes songs, set lists, cures minor technical ills, researches anything the band would ever need to know, and can string a guitar in time with the best. And, oh yeah, he likes to rock out like a demon.
matt01b.jpg (16632 bytes)      As the band's enthusiastic frontman, Matt Crain is the poet who can be credited with the band's lyrics. His songwriting sensibilities reflect the reality of his world, tinged with his own bittersweet sense of humor. Besides singing, Matt also handles quite a bit of the band's guitar work.  At times his creativity seems almost endless. As well as constantly refining current material, Matt is always hard at work on writing new and better music. He is the current winner of the C9 onstage contest for craziest member.
adam01b.jpg (19631 bytes)      Adam Knoll holds down the bottom line as the Cloud Nine's bassist. The extra thump of the bassline behind the guitars and in conjuction with the percussion adds both depth and maturity to the music. Adam's extensive vocal training allows him not only to make valuable suggestions, but also to provide  vocal harmonies and arrangements that would otherwise not exist. Adam's large frame also enables him to double as the band's roadie and security guard.
