Early July 2007, as usual a View magazine came to the house. It is the magazine distributes freely to the subscribers of Kabelvision, the cable TV operator. In the July 2007 edition, the cover is a photo of Christian Bale. What came to my interest was that his face looks like an old friend of mine Zulfikar Lukman, or usually called Ar, a neighborhood friend when I was at Sukabumi Street. I was thinking to write it immediately, but I postponed it due to some other more important issues. Then in mid July 2007, there was the news on TV about the sand storm that hit the area of Arizona. It immediately reminded me with my plan to write about my old friend Ar who looks like Christian Bale. The last name of Christian Bale is like an Indonesian word "balik", which means "upside down" or "reverse", or in the matter of revealing the facts it could also connected with the words "twisting the facts". And I did have some kind of accusations about twisting the facts related to my old friend Ar. It is about a short story. Around the nineties, I wrote several short stories, one of them with the central figure of someone named Ary. In that story I wrote that Ary became a man who made others afraid of him because he once spent some three months in mental asylum. It created an accusation that I had written some kind of "twisting the facts". Because in fact, I was the one who once spent some six months staying in the house of a religious teacher after a sick in 1979 that caused me a high fever with some delirious moments. So I apologize about this misunderstanding, but of course I also have to make some explanation here about the short story. It was not written as a short story based on true story, instead it was a fiction. And the reason for me to use the name Ary was because he was a person I admired so much, so it was his figure who came up in my mind when I began to write the short story. Besides, I never like to write anything that could be considered as ridiculing others, neither of about insinuation to others, because I am my self is not a perfect person, how could I insinuate others.

Another matter of "twisting the facts" accusation is related with a TV presenter Rahma Sarita. When I wrote the caption of a painting about her in 2001, I wrote that she asked me to get married with her. It became an accusation that I wrote it by "twisting the facts", because in fact I was the one who asked her to get married. Of course where is an explanation about this. The reason for me to write it as her asking me to get married was to give her a chance to get credit from the people and from God. Because being an old bachelor that has failed to get married for several times, if all of a sudden she helped me to get married, she would get the credit from the people and most importantly from God. Helping someone to get married is a sublime good deed in the eye of God. But if in fact it gave nothing but offended feeling on her, then I apologize for that.
