"Gatotkaca Under the Spotlight"

Thursday 25 January 2007 when I browsed the internet, I found some photos of you that like
resembled to my Gatotkaca painting which I began on December 27, 2006. Obviously I should make some explanations here about
this painting to prevent misunderstandings that might occur.
Gatotkaca is a knight who could fly, a figure from ancient epic Mahabrata brought to Indonesia
by some traders from India. According to the story, during his infant Gatotkaca was shaped inside the crater of Chandradimuka mountain
that turned him to grow faster than ordinary kids, to become a warrior with strong bones and muscles.
This painting was produced based on a photo from a book "Gatotkaca The Knight of the Sky"
written by Mr. Pranolo, a wayang puppeteer. Some modifications were taken to the pose of Gatotkaca here to make it looks more like a flying
superhero. At the background there is a Marine One helicopter on a night fly with the headlight gleamed toward the Gatotkaca, therefore the
title becomes "Gatotkaca Under the Spotlight".
Since the epic of Mahabrata came from India, and India is known as one of the Asian countries with
plenty of computer experts, so it does make sense if you are interested I this painting. While the costume of Gatotkaca in this painting is
based on the Javanese dance-drama, and Java computer program is also famous in the IT world.
The eyes of Gatotkaca in this painting are like staring to certain destination. It was like representing
the move of my old friend Reno when he was approaching Wista in the senior high school, whereas he often stared at Wista. Or in the case
of this painting, Gatotkaca is like staring to the future of your Windows Vista.

After all, congratulation for the successful launching of Windows Vista as the results of the hard work
of everybody involved in developing the program, after some delays previously. I apologize for this late congratulation, because actually at first
I was hoping to congratulate you after the Vista launching in Jakarta on early February. Yet there has been an announcement that the
launching in Jakarta would be delayed until April, due to the Jakarta flood of early February.
